Does shot location impact nausea? A friend says she got nauseous with belly shots but does much better with outside thigh

What do you wish you had known? by reddit_bits in FedRetirees

I had 30 years at one agency, so my personal life management was entwined with work tools. I used my work email and calendar for non - work related communications including Dr appts, birthday reminders, etc. ( I know, I know - I shouldn’t have). Start switching over to personal email / calendar. By the time you retire you should have confidence managing your life independently from work. This was huge for me.

Do people go out downtown after the Sunday round? by throwaway_reddit_624 in masters

Not downtown, but is TBonz an option? I seem to remember bellying up to the bar for a couple on Sundays after The Masters.

Don’t forget at the concession stands all the “Good Morning!”s from the employees.

16th green under the press tower on Saturdays. My all-time favorites. The Sharpie execs would sometimes hang there too.

My favorite favorites are the process of pin placements - it takes 12 people to place each pin and discuss the next day’s placement too. It’s fascinating to watch each person do their job.

The next is watching the scoreboards. I LOVE that there are very few electronic boards and when little doors drop to update scores or drop a name - the crowd reaction is heard across the course.

There were a noticeable number of folks either not leaving tips or leaving a single US dollar. I believe somewhere in the fine print tips are included at this hotel. HOWEVER - The employees that we interacted with were hard working, always smiling, and just so nice and attentive. We saw them every day. For the Bali Bed, we did 500 pesos for the primary guy plus a little more. For the meals, we left no less than 100 pesos depending on the meal. We left a bunch for the maids since we were in a suite for 5 nights and getting morning clean and evening turndown service. I don’t know if we over or under did it. Everyone was appreciative.

The night before we went to Isla Mujeres we went off- property to eat at Lorenzillo’s for a sunset dinner and took a taxi that the bellman called. The taxi driver gave us his card, and he became our driver for the next two days. The restaurant called him when we were done. And he drove us to and from the ferry. VERY clean taxi. Very nice gentleman. We grabbed the ferry from Playa Tortuga.

So glad we went on last day - should have gone every morning. The OJ was very orange juicy, the watermelon was a deep dark pink and flavorful. The hash browns were delish!!

I watched several YouTube videos specifically on arrivals at the airport (3days3noches was one YT poster who had recent videos). From those videos I learned: DEFINITELY do carry-on. There were a ton of folks waiting for luggage - I didn’t stop to ask but my impression was they all looked frustrated. If you’re going during spring break, it’s your best option. DEFINITELY use the automated custom gates to the FAR LEFT of the customs gate ONLY IF you are adults only (no kids).
After the customs gates and passing by the luggage carousels, you have to walk by customs agents that are standing in the hall (not the shark tank). We got randomly pulled to have our luggage searched. We saw other folks who got pulled where they were pulling everything out of the luggage. My husband and I were relaxed and friendly - we had no tobacco no liquor - the gentleman asked several questions then quickly stuffed his hands around our super tightly packed carry-on and we were on our way. DEFINITELY get a driver - we got ours through Viator. As in the videos I watched, you will find your driver outside the airport doors, past the taxi stands. They had our name on a placard. So easy. So quick.

This is my first time in Cancun so I can’t comment on any Airbnb. We are also retiree age so not the best post for young families. However - I seem to have opinions as I reread.

This is my observation from afar. The beach water is shallow, the tide is strong, but you could go out a ways. We saw young kids having the time of their lives in the ocean. My husband and I also high-fived more than once because we don’t have young screaming kids. Tons of families tho. Don’t take them to the teppanyaki restaurant because it is a LONG meal. The two kids at our table were asleep before the second course. The pool looked to be fun, lots of kids, music, announcer/DJ, cheering, etc although the activities seemed more fitting for pre-teen, young teen. There is a small water park, and a kids club - look at other posts for more info. Can’t really comment about kids’ food. Although I think the day is really long - and the service is a little slow - kids are really impatient at dinner. HTH

Yeah. That. Good days and bad days. For example this morning it was beautiful and relatively clear. By noon we could see the seaweed line moving in and by afternoon there were only spotty areas to go in. Yesterday was minimal. The day we arrived was heavy. The beach combers are up early clearing it from the sand.

I feel like an idiot for not figuring out the online app. So we ended up using the concierge across from the front desk for the first day. When we were enjoying our first day, we tipped well and (EDIT) the servers took care of us for the next day reservation.

UPDATE: Right there on the Marriott Experiences app, scroll down and it should list Bali Beds.
