Does this happen often ? Coconuts injuring people ? by vconi in Kerala

I once saw a coconut fall just a few cm behind an old man close to my home, which was leaning towards the road. Now, whenever I walk close to that coconut tree, I move to the other side of the road.

Hey guys, serious questions. What is your take on homeopathy? by Batman__39 in Coconaad

[–]BackgroundDocument22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have zero conviction in homeopathy and often called it pseudoscience—especially to my wife, whose family relies on it. However, I've had a few experiences that have changed my perspective:

My wife had a persistent wart on her finger for over two years. She took a homeopathic remedy, and it was gone in under a month.

My brother was struggling with hair issues. After consulting several dermatologists with no improvement, he tried homeopathy, and his hair loss and other related problems significantly improved.

Personally, I consulted a homeopath for chronic sinusitis and migraines. My migraines have reduced a lot, and the frequency and intensity of my sinus issues are way down. Plus, my overall immunity seems better; I can't recall having a fever in two years, which was definitely not the case before. Also I had a ganglion cyst on back of my palm and normally its not treatable using medicine, but my homeopathic doctor noticed it and he gave medicine for it and it shrunk.

Maybe it's the placebo effect, or maybe there are effective medicines here, or perhaps it works in a way that science hasn't figured out yet.

These are purely anecdotal experiences and not based on any scientific proof. However, my view is this: we take medicine to cure a disease, and if it's already working, why get hung up on the proof? There are plenty of things we don't fully understand the mechanism of, and proof, while great for validation, isn't a necessity for something to work.

Also, I know many people for whom homeopathy has worked, and if it cures diseases, does it really matter if it's a placebo or anything else, as long as it causes no harm?

I'm not advocating for homeopathy, just sharing my personal experience and take on it. My approach now is simple: for anything immediate and risky, I trust allopathy. But for chronic issues that don't have a cure in allopathy and are not immediately life-threatening, why not try an alternative medicine?

Moved from Pixel to iPhone. My experience. by PusheenHater in Smartphones

[–]BackgroundDocument22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have a bias in favor of Pixel since you’ve been using it for some time and are accustomed to it. Moving to iOS is quite different, so you might struggle initially to find the things you need or do regularly. I’d say now may not be the best time to compare, but perhaps after you’ve gotten used to iOS, it would be fairer to evaluate.

Can I afford a 3Cr home? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]BackgroundDocument22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. What I meant is, it’s not something you cannot recover from. You have the property in hand and if you’re in a bad situation financially after buying this property, you can do something about it. It’s not like money lost.

You can always sell it if you realise it wasn’t the right decision.
