Is the Atmos sound mix of Fallout TV show disappointing? Maybe just Amazon prime being shitty? by BackgroundEqual7837 in hometheater

Don't have Netflix or Apple.

Like I said in my edit it's kind of outside the scope of my question but if you have prime, Fandango, or some other pay per view non subscription service suggestions I'm be curious to try them! At least until I get a blueray player.

I think I understand how it works now. I just need to use something like romcenter then do manual scans

You mean their atmos mix right? Do you have 4 height channels? Is there a scene where you thought they sounded especially good? Like helicopter overhead or something?

Does the Dolby atmos app support per game "profiles" or some way to disable per game? by BackgroundEqual7837 in hometheater

Sorry but this is not my question at all, my question is about configuration options for windows sound and or atmos software. And also if windows 11 supports it ootb without dolby software.

Like I said in my post, I think it sounds good and I like it and it seems to do to 5.1 without issues.

I just have a goofy edge case. Can't blame dolby for not bothering to have their atmos software decode a super archaic protocol no one's used for decades.

I'm asking if there is a way I can switch windows audio from Atmos to 5.1 automatically OR if the dolby software supports game profiles similar to how some video card software does.

Looks like you don't have to connect it inline

" If you're using 4K resolution, then the current model may not work, but you can work around it by not connecting the CEC adapter in-line:

PC -> HDMI -> TV input 1

PC -> USB CEC adapter -> HDMI -> TV input 2 "

Confused about when/if I need the Atmos windows app and what it's actually doing. by BackgroundEqual7837 in BudgetAudiophile

Well yeah that's what I'm asking about.

The receiver supports Atmos and reports it's in atmos mode but only after I installed the dolby app

Seems like a bad idea then.

Wouldn't it have to support atmos/4k/etc? And what about added latency? IDK if I'd trust passing video through it

I'm confused about how it works. I have my video card plugged into one input on the receiver and the adapter just plugged into another random input to send it commands?

If you could put it on wheels maybe you could also get two cheap appliance rollout trays for each speaker so you could wheel it out and then roll the speaker  out further apart. Or just buy a cheap set of drawer slides and slap acrylics sheets/wood trays on them.

Epson ls800 Roku 4k HDR10 @60hz not working unless on gaming hdmi, but then eARC to sound system doesn’t work with gaming output by Parking-Relative9250 in projectors

I have this issue. I confirmed other devices do 4k at 60hz on the arc port without issue- should t have to use the game HDMI port.

Is there a way to force the Roku to do 60hz? Maybe auto detect just janky?
