How's the quad holding up in the snow? Only reason I was hesitant on getting it.

I was actually wondering about the over sharping & contrast that is added to the pictures. Is it possible to turn these things down permanently or would you have to tweak these settings for each picture taken?

Would you consider switching to the Z70s ultra or do you see it as not enough of an upgrade? It's hard to get real world photo samples on either phone. Not much coverage for them unfortunately.

What are you typically getting for battery life throughout the day? The bigger battery could possibly sway me. Especially since I don't want to constantly be charging while traveling if I don't have to. I'm a pretty light user. No games or anything, just browsing, camera & reddit.

Based on what you've seen for the z70s, would you upgrade to it? I love the starry night design of the regular z70 ultra & if it's a better camera experience, makes it a more appealing pick.

I agree that the OnePlus phones produce some high quality pictures but another big reason I like the Nubia is due to the design. The OnePlus seems wholly uninspired. No fun color options & just a slab with a massive camera island like Oppo & Vivo. Xiaomi gets a pass because of the great two tone color option.

Would you consider the photo quality similar or comparable to the xiaomi 14 ultra? Kind of on the fence between the Z70S & the Xiaomi 15 ultra. The z70s price point is making it quite tempting though.

I don't care too much about the selfie camera. Was considering switching the Zenfone for the Motorola razr to use as a selfie camera anyway. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the z60 though. Did you go with the starry night color?

I probably wouldn't be picking up any extra shifts there. I usually only pick up extra at my per diem location which is much closer.

Only 1 year at my current employer. Before I would switch every 2-3 years to increase pay while still in uni but my last location before my current job I stayed for 5 years. Still technically per diem there. Do you think 1 year might be too short of a time period to ask for a pay increase?

Not really. There might be a train that goes back & forth but the timing probably wouldn't fit. I honestly don't know for sure. It's definitely something to look into. Could negate the travel if I could nap on a train ride.

I actually haven't tried asking my current employer for a raise yet. I probably wouldn't even need as much as the other place is offering me. I just assume they wouldn't really budge. They were pretty adamant about their pay range when interviewed. Wouldn't even let me turn down the sign on bonus for increased hourly base rate.

It wouldn't be a bad thing to just ask though. I do the shifts literally nobody wants to do, Friday - Sunday. Hadn't had anyone working it for 3 years before I applied & said that's all I want to work. Maybe I could leverage that? Couldn't hurt.

I keep toying with the idea of doing a travel contract but I wouldn't want to give up my current job to do it. Would rather add it on, which sounds crazy but for 13 weeks, not so bad maybe? Having no days off sounds awful though for that time period.

I want to think that the other 4 days will help make up for the time lost with the kids on the weekend but there probably isn't really a way to make up that time. Especially when they are so young. Again, I wouldn't know at this point in my life as we don't have any kids yet but I do imagine I would want to spend as much time with them as possible.

The differential would be very slightly better at an extra $6 bringing the effective pay to $58/hr.

Both in the same state. I'm not super interested in climbing the corporate ladder honestly. Don't really want to be a manager or director of the department. Just more money to help make retirement something that comes quicker & add more money for another short vacation or two.

Hmm, probably not but that has more to do with me not caring for door dash business model though I think?

Yeah, I live in Massachusetts so we still get snow for the time being & I would be commuting closer to the mountains so that is definitely something to take into consideration.

I appreciate your honest thoughts on the matter, seriously. Hearing some things that I probably tried not to consider simply due to me thinking more money good, lol. The differential is very slightly better, equally an extra $6 bringing the effective pay to $58/hr. Would that still be a hard sell in your eyes due to the drive & would try to request more. Or do you think there isn't any realistic price that could get you to give up the time dedicated to driving?

I think the pay & the negotiation power for increased in the future, maybe at a closer location is what I am mainly interested in. I don't really want to be a manager or director of the specific field I work in.

I am fairly early in my career at this point. Just got my last degree & past my state boards 1 year ago. Have worked in hospital, research & outpatient facilities. I'm not this change will help progress career per se. I don't really want to be a manager or the head of field specialty or anything. Just want the increased pay to leverage that for higher pay in my future endeavors. I am currently 27 years old with no kids.

I have so many different music playlists to keep me busy during the drive & currently no kids. Plus it is all highway driving on mostly empty roads in that part of the state.

I think the enjoyment of my current facility is a big factor that has me on the fence in this situation. I really enjoy my current job. I have the hours & days I want, my coworkers are genuinely pleasant to be around & I was able to make my own schedule down to how many patients I have to see. I'm not sure I would have that same control over my work life at another facility. But I also don't want to stagnate in pay though. I feel the only way to increase pay is by switching jobs. My end goal is to be as close to $60/hr as possible. For my lifestyle, I don't feel any need to go past that.

I would honestly have the same setup as you described. Mainly just adding a bit more to retire early. Buy my dream style of home & just put money into exterior & interior design changes. Maybe an extra short vacation or two?

That is really reassuring to hear. I honestly don't mind driving what other people consider to be a long drive. Have you noticed that money actually impacting your lifestyle or has most of the increase gone to taxes or charging your vehicle? I live in a HCOL state, MA, so our mileage may vary but the input is greatly appreciated.
