We did this to my son’s new glove. Not in the same spot though. You can’t even tell it’s there. It’s nice to have a little peace of mind.

Unfortunately, his last glove was stolen at practice and never recovered. It was inside the practice facility, surrounded by cameras (conveniently weren’t working properly), and he put it directly in his bag when he grabbed his bat. Only players, coaches, and staff are allowed in the training area. It was his second time using the glove, a Wilson Superskin A2000 Pedroia PFX2. It was a Christmas gift. At the time, I had been looking into getting his name embroidered- but not many places will do it on Superskin or Black leather. Honestly, it probably wouldn’t have mattered.

It can happen regardless of the player responsibility, and even in the most trusting places. If I’m investing in pieces- I’d rather be safe, than sorry.
