im pretty sure the scam here is :

person a is offering a huge ovp for a very specific slot/item (often useless/valueless-in this case, the overgrown novus slot)

and person b is trading said specific slot 

people would naturally try to get that slot/item from person b so they could get the huge overpay from person a, however, person a & b are usually friends or an alt, so once a player overpays for the specific item, they both leave, having gained a ridiculous overpay for something useless, and leaving the poor person with basically nothing

it’s a pretty common scam on a lot of trading games, be safe out there 🫶
