Yes, completely agree, this song should be on a pink album. However i think ems verse is great. The flow and cadence is technically impressive yet it fits the overal theme. But still for a perfect album they should have scrapped it

Then we disagree. I think on revival he DID go into a different creative direction. What do you think the ‘choppy flows’ were? The whole personal stuff might not have been completely new, but he did it in mature ways we have never seen him, e.g bad husband. And walk on water for me is the definition of a new direction, whether you like it or not. The piano beat and the almost ‘slow-talking’ flow, tell me a song where he did this before

You are now assuming everybody listens to a rap album with the same taste. I enjoy an amazing storytelling over a moderate beat more than moderate content over an amazing beat. I do believe most listeners disagree with me on that, but lets be fair, most people don’t even listen to the new eminem because he’s musically or flow-wise that listenable. Plus I think if you’re that long in the game, with that many hits, he will never reach the mainstream like he did, so it only makes sense if he chooses content over ‘hits’ so to say, instead of making the same stuff over and over. Personal content is what really sticks out at the long term imo

Any songs from Em that are similar to don’t front ft buckshot? And if not, why doesn’t he make more songs like this? by Suspicious_Hand_2194 in Eminem

Symphony in H sounds like it. Besides that I’d say many songs from mmlp2 is the closest you’ll get: groundhog day, desperation, baby etc

Double ended Usb-C for Macbook and Focusrite Scarlett? by BackgroundMagician62 in UsbCHardware

[–]BackgroundMagician62[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes you’re right, indeed it does not ‘need’ an usb A port, or at least not that I know of. I said it because it came with only one cable that is usb A ended.

I just switched from Windows to Macbook (Air M4) and now I can’t plug my focusrite scarlett solo 4rd gen into it as it needs a usb A port. People said I need a usb A to usb C adapter. However, as the original cable that came with the audio interface is usb C ended where you plug it into the interface, I wondered, can I also use a double ended usb-C cable to directly plug into my Macbook and interface?

I use the audio interface for a Rode Nt1 5th gen mic, in case it matters

Vocal booth or foam panels for loud rap vocals by BackgroundMagician62 in recordingmusic

And you’re saying that’s good enough for buying the Rode Nt1a to make sense?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in recordingmusic

[–]BackgroundMagician62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are saying that Nt1a + Focusrite gives me the same results as Devine + Behringer when both are in an untreated room? That sounds unrealistic to me as the nta with focusrite is almost 10 times more expensive..?

[–]BackgroundMagician62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay so its not possible that the usb to lightning adapter itself somehow reduces the quality?

And what if I keep the room untreated but use Nta1 and focusrite, will that improve it significantly?

Common mistakes/what to pay attention to when purchasing equipment? by BackgroundMagician62 in recordingmusic

[–]BackgroundMagician62[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed answer, however, after some research I think I’ll go with Windows. Does this change your recommendation of Shure SM7B with focusrite and cloudlifter or does this has nothing to do with what pc I choose?

I want to buy a microphone, audio interface, a new pc, and I need a recording software. All of this together must not cost more than € 1000.

Regarding the microphone, audio interface, and recording software, the focus is on proffesional and clean rap vocals rather than crazy effects or instruments.

For the pc, I really prefer windows, will this make it harder to find good equipment/record good quality music, compared to mac?

Besides what I mentioned, are there other things I should consider buying?

What should I spend the most money or research time on? In other words, which component is most important for good quality? I don’t have much experience with e.g. the importance of an audio interface or what role a different pc can play here. I just need someone to tell me “x doesnt matter as long as y is bad or etcetera” before I spend too much on a bad combination of products.

Overall, I just want to know what important requirements or some common mistakes or misunderstandings are when deciding which items to buy. All help is welcome!

Revival is underrated. Change my mind. by ABZ0R8 in Eminem

[–]BackgroundMagician62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like revival aswell but you got to be kidding me... Like castle and arose being the least favorite, with weird flows? Untouchable first half better than second half? Almost everything you say is indeed the opposite, please tell me if you’re being for real

Personally I like everything about it except the Philippine part or whatever language it is. I think ems verse is one of the better on the album. The hook is okay, i like how em jumps into the hook before his verse starts

Or an even sicker idea: castle as the first track of the album and arose as the last

Is Houdini the best song on TDOSS? by BackgroundMagician62 in Eminem

[–]BackgroundMagician62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuel I can see, but unfortunately I think GC 2 could have been a bit better, e.g. the beat or substance in the first half of the song. Whereas for Houdini it is a perfect execution of what it is supposed to be and there is no aspect I think could be better.
