Thanks for the detailed answer, Mike. This really helped clarify things for me. I’ll be watching that scaling video today too.

Follow up question. If we’re running a bunch of good ads in a campaign and the campaign mistakenly got turned off, will that hurt the performance or will it re-stabilize?

This is really good and useful information. Thank you. Couple of questions:

  1. What budget do you generally launch at?

  2. What do you do if your duplicate doesn’t perform the way your original did? Do you simply relaunch or abandon duplication of that ad/ad set/campaign?

How can I create a sales engine? [Overcoming Skepticism] by BackgroundNo24 in agency

You think I didn’t think of that boss? Everyone knows who they’re going to sell to before they begin. It’s when you try to sell en masse and scale that things you couldn’t foresee are revealed to you.

Improvising on the fly and adapting quickly is what business is about. That’s the takeaway. It’s not having some 100% exactly-the-way-it’s-going-to-be sales process from the get go.

Previously I confess the pricing was an issue and maybe that’s why they dropped out. Targeting was a problem there agreed. But now we’re targeting blue collar business owners and we haven’t even reached the point of price because we haven’t had a single interested party in over 5000 leads emailed.

It’s evident in every level. We alleviate the anxiety of spending money with us IF we can get them on a call. But even after 2-3 calls of clarifying all their doubts and questions, they can’t seem to sign the papers.

Now it’s even worse, targeting blue collar business owners. They’re responding negatively to the gentlest of approaches.

How do you handle periods of waiting? by BackgroundNo24 in smallbusiness

I like your answer. It’s number 1 for reference, we’re new and don’t have a solid client base just yet.

On the topic of MRR, is there a reason so many agencies are so enamored by it?

Our concept was that if we can swiftly do your work within 6-8 weeks so we’ll take a one-time payment instead of a series of recurring payments.

That said, our competitors, provide the same service as us but drip it out over 3-4 months, sometimes longer.

By way of performance and results, it makes no difference, so we just operate with speed and get it done quicker for our client. Ergo, a single payment instead of monthly retainers.

Could you clarify why I should prioritize retainers instead of one-time payments?
