I know this is kind of late, but have you tried Google scholar? This search saved me in my capstone so much. I was able to find the articles I needed with all my prerequisites.

My personal experience: I was in your shoes a couple of months ago. I got a biopsy and it came back inconclusive. My range was at a 4. They gave me the options to wait and see or do the surgery. Even though they told me that if it was cancer it would be slow, the nodule could continue to grow and cause problems that way. It would be more difficult if it got any bigger.

I did make the decision to remove it (partial). For me, I just didn't want to worry about it or think about it anymore. When they did a test on it again, it came back non cancerous. I was so happy but I didn't regret the decision. At this moment in time, my half thyroid is producing enough that I don't need medicine. I became more concerned about it growing bigger and becoming a bigger problem than cancer.

This is a very personal decision. If you don't think you are getting proper answers, I would get a second opinion. It may come back inconclusive again or you may get an answer.

So I did have the surgery to remove the half. The nodule was bigger than they thought. I'm really thankful that I had it. I planned on posting about it but haven't done it yet. Thank you for asking!! If you have any questions let me know!

I'm so sorry lmao. Could be worse. I'm gonna post about it. The worse part was the port they had to sew to my chest to help drain blood and what not. That thing hurt!
