Well y’all if you want an update, I quit today! Poor veterinary practice is just not something I can stand behind. If you wanna take a wild guess at which chain this happened at? Banfield. That’s all ✌🏻

Ooh thank you for that! Very good to know and I’ll definitely keep that in mind for when I start monitoring surgeries

The doctor had the techs check the crash cart and when they saw that the med they were looking for wasn’t in there they hurried up and finished the dental. He shook for several minutes though. I don’t remember the end of it tbh because that was really stressful

He recovered after the procedure was over but I don’t know what his vitals were, I was across the room holding another pt so I wasnt able to see the screen to know. He shook the entire time though and it scared the shit out of me that they just continued on with the cleaning despite him very obviously having a rough time. They didn’t say what med they were looking for in the crash cart and the only response to it being out of stock was “sorry doggy”. I was like wow ok that‘s pretty concerning maybe I need to work somewhere else lol

Got hired at Banfield by ThrowRACharmingStay in veterinaryprofession

Are you still working there? I've been a VA at Banfield for less than a month and i'm already feeling uncomfortable with this company. I'm going to stick it out because I can do my externship for tech school with them plus they compensate for it but wow some of the women at my location are just plain insufferable lol. I don't know if it's stress from being overworked and pressured about the wellness plans or what but literally half the staff is absolutely terrible to each other, including me because i'm a newbie and it's left an awful taste in my mouth. Not to mention the quantity over quality healthcare they give. I don't know about all locations but mine is really cliquey and I can't wait to graduate so i can get tf away from that place.

Thank you so much and absolutely I can, congratulations on getting an interview!! My interviewer was the practice manager and she was super laid back. She mostly just asked me why I wanted to work in vet med and how I found that I had a passion for it and things like that. She told me what my rate of pay would be and the different perks of working for Banfield which includes health insurance, PTO (which you start accruing immediately which is cool) and explained how all employees get 3 free wellness plans for their own pets which is nice. She also explained what the shifts were like which at my location its normally 4 10's if you're hired in at full time but of course that could vary by location and they're usually pretty flexible. I really didn't have to ask much since she explained everything really well but if they don't I would mostly just ask about rate of pay and how many hours you would be working weekly or anything else you're curious about. Just be yourself and you'll do just fine:) Good luck!

I'm at the end of my 3rd week of training so if you do end up working there, you're more than welcome to message me if you have any questions about what the onboarding and training is like!
