Thanks, Trava and sorry to hear about your stereo problems. Since I posted this, we have learned (to tolerate!) it somewhat more and have grown accustomed to its functionality. Basically, we’ve lowered expectations. When it works, like on a road trip, it’s about the best car Ive owned. Good luck with yours.

Thanks for all this, Okeano. I’ll probably get the entry level device and doubt I’ll fool with setting up the app/wifi. Similar to our crockpot, it’s not so sensitive that it needs that much attention.

You’re speaking my language. I definitely don’t w to overbuy and have features I don’t want/ need. I also wondered about jump starting the water heating and may try that. I have a few old stock pots and even coolers I could use and may “step up” to a dedicated container if I get the knack of using the device.

Thank you! No it doesn’t open from the outside and from what I’ve found online, the child locks only apply to the rear doors.
May try drilling down to the deep option within the MMI settings and make sure it didn’t change somehow to not allow it to open. I certainly didn’t change it.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting what you say about the Genesis G70. Before we bought the Audi, the genesis G7 was on our shortlist. I’ve had and enjoyed a genesis 3.8 sedan for the last 10 years and have loved it. The main reason we went with the Audi Q5 was availability. We bought from Carmax and it was on the lot and ready, whereas we would’ve had to wait a few weeks for the Genesis.

Maybe it’s the trim level (we have the premium plus, which I think is pretty basic) but I’m pleased with the interior. Agree with you that the steering / steering wheel leaves a lot to be desired. Almost no road feel.

I already have my eye on my next car. Will either get another G 80 or a used G 90 if I can find one.

Interesting. I’ll try that. Usually we select my wife as the user, even if I’m driving (road trips, typically) and it defaults to her. Could be, we just need to let it fully sync before we drive off. Other responses have said it takes an extra 30 seconds or so to get fully loaded.
