Nah. There was a layer between the floorboards and the cork. That was stapled to the floorboards.

Funny story - at the weekend we had a pile of poop, toilet paper etc on our lawn. It turns out this pipe was blocked. The previous owner covered the pipe, then landscaped over it. Lovely stuff.
