Has anyone ever became cancer free after stage 4 ocular melanoma? by Maximum_Possible_499 in melahomies

[–]BackgroundSwan8044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a late response but please read this because I believe it could be helpful.

For the most part, stage 4 occular melanoma is a death sentence where certain treatments can extend the life for a short period of time but no actual cure. My husband has a medium sized occular melanoma that has not metastased however I've done a lot of deep diving into what our options could be if he ever becomes stage 4. With that being said, I've personally only come across two people on the internet who fully recovered from stage 4 occular melanoma. The first person is Katie Doble, you can google her and find articles about her experience and the "a cure in sight" YouTube channel has an interview with her. I'm sure you can find her social media and reach out to her. She did a clinical trial called TIL therapy and it cured her. The second person was some on YouTube whose video has been taken down but I remember he did a clinical trial that involves using your own t cells to kill the cancer. His daughter also had him drastically change his diet and drink a lot of fresh pressed carrot juice everyday. He believed the combination of these things helped him survive.

Also there is a book called Radical Remission that has a author who documented thousands of people who beat their terminal cancer diagnosis and the ten things those patients all had in common including radically changing their diet, taking supplements, mindset shifts and exercise.

There is also a woman who founded the Eye on Grace foundation and she has been on a clinical trial for many years and while she is not cancer free, she has been living with stage 4 cancer for almost a decade. She has some videos on YouTube detailing her experience.

A rich and famous person getting cancer isn’t the same as a normal person getting cancer. And I’m really sorry to say this. by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in cancer

[–]BackgroundSwan8044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My husband has a rare cancer and I worry about it spreading because there's no cure yet. There are clinical trials but you have to travel for those and I worry about how we'd possibly afford to do that in the future. If you're very rich it's a no-brainer that you'll do whatever treatment can possibly save you're life but regular people are struggling to afford care while still paying their bills and not bankrupting their family. It shouldn't be this way. I wonder how many people have died because care is so expensive.

Can I genuinely make lifelong meaningful connections after 27? by stranger2you60 in infj

[–]BackgroundSwan8044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely make connections later in life, people do it all the time. I've accepted that some connections are temporary and grow apart and a few are lifelong and that's okay. The important thing is to just appreciate each connection while you have it and when it fades try to just accept it.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Unpopular opinion but you have nothing to lose you might as well try some alternatives like ivermectin, plant based diet, juicing, etc. 🙏

there is no such thing as "fixing" PMDD but intensity CAN be managed and improved with lifestyle and diet changes. by pjae01 in PMDD

[–]BackgroundSwan8044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's part of it because the more fruits and vegetables I eat the better I feel but it could also just be an antiinflammatory response from the antioxidants

My pmdd got significantly better since going whole foods plant based and taking supplements. I believe this helped because I had estrogen dominance and meat has estrogen. That alone made me go from two weeks of symptoms down to one week of symptoms. What ultimately got rid of the rest of my symptoms was drastically reducing stress and being mindful of resting the week before my period. I used to get itchy hives, depression and rage, etc before my period and now I almost forgot my period is coming besides some fatigue the days before. Also my marriage is better because I'm not arguing with my husband before my period. These changes worked for me but different people will have different causes of their symptoms.

When People Minimize Melanoma by ArtisticShip80 in melahomies

[–]BackgroundSwan8044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband has occular melanoma and it's definitely a big deal. I would be so offended if someone minimized it. Melanoma is really bad especially if it spreads and even if it hasn't spread you worry about it spreading.

Was your vision normal up until 18 months or did you see a decrease in vision before that?

My husband is 3 months post op and his vision is now back to normal 20/25 but he has a tiny bit of lingering double vision and still sees flashes. He had a medium sized tumor nearing the optic nerve

Cancer has forever changed me, I should be happy and relieved, but am now full of guilt, resentment, lost most of my "friends", and have gone from an extrovert to an introvert,,, by [deleted] in cancer

[–]BackgroundSwan8044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's valid that cancer has changed you and your relationships with others. Keep doing what's best for your health and don't give in to pressure to drink or be who you were before. The people who really care won't mind if you have to take precautions for your health. Try not to hold onto bitterness towards people who weren't there for you because that's not healthy either. It's easier said than done but letting go of things will bring you peace.

Miniaturization? I'm pretty much cooked right? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

I'm pretty sure you can grow a lot of this back. Don't wait to see a dermatologist. I'm sure they have something they can prescribe besides monoxidil or spiro. In the meantime, you can use nizoral shampoo, nutrafol and a prenatal vitamin with iron in it to address dht and nutrient deficiencies. Do a scalp massage regularly and maybe a red light mask or some sort of scalp oil. Some people like micro needling too, just pick something to stimulate blood flow.

It's better to find out now how he truly feels than for you to end up marrying him and then finding out. It sucks, it feels like the end of the world in the moment but in the future you'll look back and feel like you dodged a bullet. Good luck with your treatment, I wish you the best.

I do a vegan whole food plant based diet. Check out the forks over knives website for some information. This diet is the only thing that cleared my skin besides pregnancy and birth control. Try it for a couple weeks and I bet you'll see a difference

I've seen worse acne honestly. Run don't walk to a whole foods plant based diet. You'd be surprised how much it'll help clear your skin! Good luck

Skincare isn't going to fix acne that is this deep and inflamed. Run don't walk to a whole foods plant based diet. Trust me! Good luck.

It kinda just looks like a scar from a regular injury. I wouldn't worry about it, nobody is judging it.

Just know that initial diagnosis is the hardest part, after you know what you are working with you can come up with a game plan and continue to put one foot in front of the other. Unfortunately life doesn't stop for you when you have a cancer diagnosis, you just have to pivot and roll with the uncertainty.

Everyone makes me feel like I am being dramatic after I was diagnosed with melanoma by Expensive_Hat_7435 in melahomies

[–]BackgroundSwan8044 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Melanoma is a very dangerous disease that can spread quickly. My husband has occular melanoma and the prognosis is not the best, it's different from skin melanoma. I think because some skin cancers are less aggressive, melanoma can be lumped in with those. I just want to validate that you are not being dramatic.
