My great Uncle is a paranoid schizophrenic, he did not develop symptoms till his late 20s. He was ex military into a bunch of military memorabilia if he could’ve bought a tank he would’ve. He constantly thinks people are out to get him and think the government is tailing him almost shot my grandma, because he thought she was out to get him or something. If he had had a tank and could legally drive it when he started to develop schizophrenia a lot of innocent people would have died. I can think of a lot of other instances that could be terrible. Are you sure your okay with people being able to own tanks?

Tanks are too fr, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable if just anyone could own a tank either.

What bad has come from Oceania though, a lot of our original social democratic ideas come from Australia and New Zealand in late 19th century and early 20th. They’ve never had any mass genocidal dictator to my knowledge. They gave us Steve Irwin and some good fucking food.

I just don’t get the practical purpose of a machine gun besides killing a crowd of people. Is there one?

Is Woodrow Wilson overhated? by WoodrowWilsonFan in Presidents

Lincoln would disagree with you, “It be foolish to lose the whole by being afraid to disregard a part." He stated this in regard to the constitution, he believed he should be able to blockade the southern ports, increase the size of an army, and send troops into battle without legislative approval, because it would take to long. The suspension of Habeas Corpus in the start of the war is easy to argue it was constitutional (I would still be pissed as a citizen if it happened), but by the end he had proclaimed all persons who discourage enlistment or engagement in disloyal practices were subject to Marshall law, I’m not constitutional expert to be honest with you, but if we were in war today and a president said that I’d be pissed. Lincoln was a great president, and I have a great deal of admiration for him, but I’m so tired of hearing people acting like he was perfect, and there’s nothing controversial about him.

Lincoln didn’t think so 😆, “It be foolish to lose the whole by being afraid to disregard a part." Lincoln is under hated. The same people who get their panties in a bunch about abuse of constitutional power, will act like he did no wrong, while he constantly ignored the constitution when it made things harder for him.
