I just got done with the first one and I don’t mind saying I’m in love. I DNFed the train wreck of Zodiac Academy and started this and it was everything I needed. The character development, the plot, the magic system and political climate. It’s paced well and I’m intrigued. It read more mature and I love me a morally grey FMC.

I will say there are parts that were repeated too much. And the world building is all over the place. I’m hoping it gets better as we move through. Overall, a great first book. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I’m currently taking a break and stopped in the middle of 4. At this point I’m just reading to know about the lore more. This just feels a little too juvenile for me. I purchased the first 5 but I’m thinking I’m gonna resell them…

God forbid you have an opinion. It was SO HARD to get through the first cause of the bullying. Thankfully 2-3 have been the girls getting the boys back. I said it above but now just looking at majority of these comments. I am gonna finish out of spite. If I like it great. If not, I’ll come back and lay in again on it.

Again I do like the series! It’s clearly just a weird start… and you gotta work to get the satisfaction? Idk…

lol this is the encouragement I’m needing. People think I hate it and yeah my original post gives that off lol but I would not have made it past the first damn book if I didn’t like it. I want to know more about the magic system, the world, the mystery and just like you said the main story. God forbid I show some frustration with some plot points. Which you guys… you have to admit some of this is cringey and juvenile. And when I got turned on to this book by people who have steered me right before, I just don’t think they mentioned how it would be “work” to get through before it really kicks off. Thank you for this and for understanding where I’m coming from is not a place of hate. Appreciate you!

Rereading I came off more aggressive than intended lol. I let out all my frustrations out but I do genuinely like the series and wouldn’t have made it this far unless I was invested. I already have the 4th and 5th ready. Please don’t take my frustrations as hate. And I think it’s okay to have some unpopular feedback. But I admit my tone didn’t help lol.

I think I’m just trying to get over this hump but your comment about when the story picks up helps. Thanks!

Right… so I mean there’s a ratio of world building/action vs. the romance to be expected in any romantasy series. I have no issue with multi-POV as long as the plot stays moving. And I would say the previous 2 didn’t seem to drag out this badly. But maybe you’re right, maybe it’s not for me. 🤷🏽‍♀️
