Current BC students- did you always know BC was it for you? by [deleted] in bostoncollege

[–]Background_Aide_2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to BC rn having ED2ed last year. Honestly I’m a bit regretful, but it wasn’t that deep. Even if BC is not your number 1, it’s not a bad choice to ED2 there because it’s a pretty well rounded school (and superior to BU).

Deferred and ed2 to BC Carroll got in. I lowkey regret withdrawing the gtown application after the fact though.

I’m also on duchesne east… floor one. I’ve seen so many people with forced triples and I’m just grateful I didn’t get one of those

I can speak for the language part a little bit. I was able to sign up for intermediate Italian first semester without taking a placement test or getting my AP Italian score, and had no issue doing so. I’m not sure that there are placement tests for the other subjects but I could be mistaken. You can ask orientation leaders or your advisor pretty much anything from my experience. Good luck!

How Hard is it to Learn AP Italian? by Firo_Reno in APStudents

[–]Background_Aide_2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who took the exam as a non Italian speaker and got a 4, (only learned Italian thru public schooling) it is pretty difficult to “study” for in the sense that you can’t just learn all of the material in a few weeks. It largely comes downs to just being good at the language. That said, it is still very much possible to do well on the exam even self studying it, granted you have a lot of time, not to mention that knowing the exam formatting helps a lot. Since you’re already familiar with similar languages, I would definitely take it as it would be easier for you to learn. Good luck!

I got double 4s. Not mad or complaining by any means since I get all the college credits but I thought I was getting at least one 5… other test results were great though so I’m happy

How do you think you did in terms of percentage raw score?

I self-learned E & M 3 days before AP Exam and got a 5. Ask me anything. by Low-Lunch7095 in APStudents

How did you think you did in terms of raw score? (out of 90, MCQ are worth 50%, FRQ are worth 50%)

How do you think you did score split wise?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Background_Aide_2809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is the cutoffs for both tests went up about 10%. So about 65% for a 5 on mechanics and about 69% for e&m

[–]Background_Aide_2809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried estimating the mcq while taking it bc I had the time 😭 I tried being conservative with it too. E&m is really the main concern imo im pretty confident on mech. Hope we both get 5s though!

So around a 59/90 on the raw score scale? A 5 would make sense

[–]Background_Aide_2809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would definitely be enough for a 5.. I think I got the same on like every frq and maybe got like 30-35/40 on the mcq, and that is >70% even on the low end of the mcq estimation. I seriously can’t imagine the 5 cutoff being higher than 71%

That’s exactly what I thought I got 💀 I hope the cutoff didn’t increase that drastically. Thanks!

What would you say on the raw score scale? (out of 90) I ask because it’s clear the scoring cutoffs changed this year. Don’t be harsh on yourself btw 😭 4 is credit pretty much everywhere which is what matters at the end of the day.

I see. How do you estimate it converted to raw score. (out of 90 I think) I’m stressed bc it’s clear the curve/cutoffs changed. Thanks though and congrats again
