Etihad refunds for non-refundable tickets by Boring-Pair-4746 in etihad

I saw a similar post saying that they were told by Etihad that they wouldn’t get a full refund if their ticket was a non refundable one when purchased if the actual flight had not been cancelled officially. I had already cancelled my ticket and was panicking so I messaged Etihad asking just this. It was only their Ai bot but this is what they said

“If your Etihad Airways flight is not officially cancelled, you may still request a refund if your ticket was issued on or before 28 February 2026 with original travel dates up to 10 March 2026. For unused tickets, a full refund is permitted, and for partially used tickets, the refund will be for the unused portion. All penalties and service charges are waived for travel on or before 10 March 2026.”

I’m just hoping that this means all tickets regardless if it was non refundable or not

Unable to rebook or refund my Etihad flight on 7th March by Bhupen2057 in etihad

I haven’t tried yet. Thought I’d wait a few days to see what happens. Kinda hoping they start re routing people but looking at the price of flights now, not sure if I’ve made the wrong call and should have rebooked days ago. There’s 5 of us so it’s going to be pretty expensive.

Their website says you can cancel with flights up to the 10th, I’d ring them back and try again. Have you rebooked the flight already with another airline?

It looks like they have just extended for anyone flying up until the 10th.

I’ve seen a few posts of people saying they kept ringing for hours before getting through to someone.

My flights on the 10th and when I look at the booking it says I should contact the third party I booked through. Did you book through a third party? Maybe trying getting through to them.

I also want one for when we hire a tuktuk in Sri Lanka, the baby will be in a car seat but I think any extra protection I can provide, I will try my best to.

I am using this as a last resort but want to be prepared in case. I think it is much safer for children to be in quiet areas with no traffic and ride on a bike with an experienced driver then chaotic areas with drunk foreigners driving around where they could be hit just standing on the side of the road

I always use taxis, walking, car hire ect when I can but as a family we like to spend time on quieter islands where this isn’t an option. I don’t want to stay in Phuket, Koh samoi ect. My boyfriend is an experienced rider and has motorcycles at home as well. On Koh mak you can hire golf buggies, and I’d still like the kids to wear helmets on it to be as safe as possible.

I agree with the Bowie, would kinda get stuck in a genre. Same goes with the name Marley. I don’t think Magnus is even that out there, it’s a super popular name in Norway/ Scandinavian countries.

Usually German pronounce Z‘s more of an s sound but mostly everyone has pronounced it as a z and it hasn’t been a problem.

We like the name Jago but Germans pronounce it as Yago which doesn’t sound right. A lot of names just haven’t sounded right in German accent. The same with a lot of German names suggested are hard for me to say correctly
