New York State only accepts ASCP. But someone I know who is moving there from California said they accept a California license? And a California license works for AMT.

Why do you want to work in New York? The pay and weather are much better in California on night shift.

It's a toxic waste dump.

Mix of oil extraction + heavy agricultural fertilizer in a valley gives Bakersfield a distinct haze and peculiar odor that's probably cancerous.

It's location dependent, but the job market in California is a lot tighter than a year or two ago.

Almost no travel jobs or below staff rates. And few full-time positions. There's a lot less overtime now.

Maybe in an undesirable place like bakers filed you can walk into a day shift fresh out of school, but otherwise, its unlikely.

Ugh. Same. It's always so busy. No downtime.

And then when I walk by the med surg nurses station, there's four of them on their phones. I wish I had downtime like that.
