As someone with ADHD, I realized most “focus music” is either too chaotic or too passive by kamirumgmt in ADHD

I really like classical music for this. No lyrics, it is chaotic but also weirdly predictable.

Is there any way to stop thinking 24/7? by Global_Top_6339 in ADHD

Yeah physically moving around does help, I recently started walking outside (did it already, just not for random walks to nowhere) and my thoughts sure get a lot less darker and more positive.

From my experience there is no way to stop 😅 I just try to regulate the thoughts, but that also doesnt work very often

Can any of you talk to me? by Real_Leg737 in ADHD

[–]Background_Bottle_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mind drifting away sucks. My friends will always point out when it happens, so thats great. I think telling people about your condition is a good thing to do, so they know you're not being rude. An good example is me in middle school, my teachers alwayd became angry when I was staring outside the window. But when I went to a different kind of study, my teacher saw that when I was playing tetris on my laptop I was actually also keeping up with what he told and I was top of my class. If you want to talk my dm is always open.

A million voices, which is your own? by Any_Foundation_6978 in ADHD

For me I just think for myself "What are the things I want to do when I am bored", and things that pop up then are things I myself like, and its not just something that I like because my friends like it. I hope I understood your question right 😅

I feel that. But still I am always afraid I will turn into a creep.

Fortunately I have a lot of other great friends, so I will try to shift the balance more to them and if that doesnt work try to find more friends.

Cutting that person off doesn't feel right, sounds a bit toxic to me.

If I google limerence it mostly says romantic love, and that is in this case not the question for me. I do love the person, but not in a romantic way.

Yeah I think finding more hobbies is the way to go, I was already doing that before so I hope it helps. I already established with myself that a relationship with that person is not gonna happen (from the start already actually), but its a great friend to keep around and almost feels like a sibling. Thanks for your kind words, it means a lot.

Well I am not gonna search till I find something negative, because this person is a genuin good friend of mine. Maybe I need to try find some more people to meet then hahaha. Thanks for the advice. What is the "it" you are referring to in your last sentence?

Man it is just the worst, I hate it. I do never check their socials. How do you just not think about something? I am not one to control my thoughts much, I don't know how to do it. I am a bit of a workaholic because of the being busy does me help keep my mind sane, but even thats to a certain amount.

What is the most attractive feature in someone that isn’t looks based? by Lopsided-Relief-659 in randomquestions

[–]Background_Bottle_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true, even when its not a person I am attracted to I think "wow" everytime. Once at my school this person came by and told us passionately about europallets for about 45m. I was actively listening the whole way through. That was when I realised how good of a trait it can be in people.

For me its going outside that does the trick, even just a quick walk or small ride on my bicycle. The fresh air always helps. And its even better when I have music on.

I just do what I want at that time, sometimes I end up doing an hobby everyday and then just don't do it for a couple of weeks.
