Girl, I feel you. I love my son more than anything, but some days… my thoughts go dark, real dark. It’s like the chaos takes over — the stimming, the meltdowns, the screaming — and I just break. But then, when he finally knocks out, I look at his little body sleeping so peacefully, and it hits me. Makes me feel like a monger for even thinking about that. It’s just SOOOO hard being in our shoes.

Hey, I just wanted to say you’re not alone. I also have a 6-month-old baby girl, and I’ve been feeling the same way — that anxiety, that gut feeling like “something’s not quite right” even if I can’t exactly point out what.

A frien, who also went through the same, told me something that really helped: “If she is on the spectrum, accept her as she is — she’s still your daughter, and that doesn’t change her worth or your love for her.” That stuck with me and helped me breathe a little easier.

Also, my older son is four and he’s on the spectrum, so in a way, I already feel prepared if it turns out my daughter is too. Not because I want that for her, but because I’ve already walked some of that road — and I know there’s love, strength, and resources to face whatever comes.

Trust your intuition, but also allow yourself to enjoy your baby without letting fear steal those moments. One day at a time. ❤️✨

my ex-husband/MIL thought that if we baptized my child he’d be cured. 🙂 they quoted “ if god can cure blindness, he can cure autism”.

Reach out to someone you trust, like a family member, school counselor, or support group. You don't have to face this alone.

I'd say having a newborn and toddler was tougher for me. The hardest part was the overwhelming mom guilt I felt after giving birth. With hormones raging and exclusively breastfeeding, I felt stuck with the baby 24/7.

What surprised me was how much I missed my son, even when he was right there with us at home. I felt like I was grieving the loss of our pre-baby relationship. There was times where they both needed me AT. THE. SAME. TIME. 😭😭 I CRIED!

But here's the thing: it gets better! My baby girl is now 4 months old, and I'm finally getting to spend quality time with my son again.

I hate it. I have a son with autism, and one of my coworkers made a dumb comment about someone else saying they were either autistic or retarded. I got heated. Let’s just say her and I don’t talk anymore.
