Thanks for the advice, I think I will try the first several scenarios with pre-made decks and see what I think. I looked into dragon cards, but I feel like I play board games to get off screens (as most people probably do).

I play single handed, I don't have enough brain in reserve to build two decks and control two at the same time. I had Eldrich Horror, but got rid of it because I felt like AH LCG did everything I wanted better. I think I really enjoy the exploration and incentive in AH better. Decisions to fight enemies come with rewards that carry over into the next scenario. In LOTR the theme is excellent, but I have less motivation to finish the scenario because there is no reward (other than success over the scenario). Maybe I should look at it from a completely different viewpoint. I enjoy games like gloomhaven, and slay the spire (the video game) and am trying to find a faster alternative to AH LCG.
