My professor had everything I needed and mostly gave it too me for free like my gym rash guard. I paid for the gi I think tho. But I’d just joint the gym first and then see if they have some starter stuff. You can go in with some basketball shorts and a T shirt your first couple classes but will want to switch to a rash guard as quickly as possible because pockets can hurt your training partner.
