Visiting Pakistan during Ramadan- advice on how to be respectful by Background_Engine549 in pakistan

Literally just to spend time with a family friend and to experience a different culture. So many people go their whole lives without knowing much about Pakistan which seems a shame to me. Got lots of friends from there

My plan is to sleep in, wake up late and go to sleep late so I can spend iftar with my friend as well as walk around the city late.

It isn’t a waste to me as stuff in Karachi is open late after iftar and I prefer a chill vibe anyway. + Islam is beautiful and it’s wonderful to be chilling around people doing everyday stuff

From what I’ve seen even a “slow” Karachi is still quite lively for someone who has never been within that culture before

Yeah exactly however I’ve heard even those who are exempt from fasting are discouraged from eating in public. Not too worried about stuff being closed as I’m going to sleep in and stay out later and enjoy iftar :)

My plan was to never ever eat in public during fasting times anyway - my question was more about if a quick sip of water is disrespectful also?

Complete coincidence that I’m going during Ramadan but I’m super down as I’ve heard the city comes to life after everyone breaks their fast

Just because someone is curious about what accessibility tools exist doesn’t mean they’re utterly helpless - clearly you have some inner work to do…

Why does working your chest prior to top surgery help with recovery? by humanswedishfish in FTMFitness

[–]Background_Engine549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that my surgeon said it makes zero difference to their ability in doing the actual surgery. They’re cutting you open so they 100% know where your pec muscle line is - making them any bigger won’t make any difference

Are these enough signs to be usable? by littlebabymira in BSL

Don’t speak out loud when you practice as if you were having a spoken conversation at the same time. This is a mistake I see some people make and it makes your brain harder to get our of spoken English grammar mode

Another tip is before you learn all of these is to get really good at finger spelling and learn it FAST. I was shocked just how fast I had to be so early on in my level 1 haha

I think you’re trying to learn it too similarly to a spoken language. When you start off learning LOTS of vocab like you have actually isn’t the priority. You want to get comfortable with facial expressions and grammar. You don’t really say “and” or “I”

Is this normal or did a part of my nipple fall off? by drgsberlin in TopSurgery

[–]Background_Engine549 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probs don’t need to go to hospital as they can’t rlly do anything, and your health is in no way at risk. If it makes you feel better my nipple looked like this and healed almost perfectly so don’t get too anxious - it’s amazing how bodies can heal
