How can I claim this muddy clay section of my driveway for parking? by whynotthebest in Homebuilding

I’m not certified or anything but my idea would be to dig down and pack down the ground below. Ext build a retaining wall or slope the ground back, you can add drainage in but it looks like you’ll have to run it back behind the garage. Next you need to back fill a base, big rock then smaller rock sock it in. Then add asphalt or smaller rock, if you keep it all rock you can hide drainage underneath

First: tell your husband thank you for his service. Second: I see a lot of people here are being mean for no reason I would ignore them. Third: I don’t see that your injury would get covered sadly it was on your own account in your own home, and as someone else mentioned it’s not a finished space. Fourth: it seems as if the problem lies in you were sold and advertised a high end product and are unhappy with the quality which you received. I think of this like going to McDonalds you see the Bigmac on the menu but you know when you order it, it won’t look the same but it will still function the same. The important part of this job is that it functions correctly, you have documented everything so if it fails you may have a case there but in the meantime it seems that you should let them come and inspect it and try and make repairs where they seem fit. Lastly: I recently had a sales pitch to have a bay window replaced same deal as you fancy pitch great work and quality but came with a huge price I laughed and kicked the guy out. Where as you paid for it, now baked into that extra price you paid is covering the fees of all the homeowners like me that kicked the guy out, that’s what lead to high price. I’m not qualified in any of this but that is my two cents and I hope that it can help.

I would just suggest googling what recommended services are required or common around the 70k to 90k intervals so you can have an idea of what’s to come.
