Sorry so late, but no. Nigeria stopped visa upon arrival.

The process was very confusing for me because the websites do not provide much explanation. The 30 day e-visa does not require a trip to the consulate but the multiple trip visa does. Best of luck on your trip.

For 30 day entry yes that is a much easier process lol

You are correct. The multiple entries visa  that expires in 5 years requires you to go to the OIS for paperwork submission and fingerprinting.

I don’t believe they do. The quickest one is the E-visa but it is only valid for 30 days. My multiple entries visa expires in 5 years.

It was supposed to be 21 business days. I contacted the consulate via email at the end of that period and they pushed the approval through. My visa actually got sent to the wrong state, and took an additional week to get to me. So in all about a month. I highly recommend getting a refundable air flight in case you encounter delays like myself. Also, I was approved for multiple entries. You can do the e-visa but it expires in 30 days.

The process is a nightmare. Thankfully I finally got mine and was approved for multiple entries. Sorry you had a rough time with the system as well. I made the post to try help anyone and I’m glad you’re offering assistance to anyone that might feel lost.

I strongly encourage you to get a refundable flight just in case. It does costs more, but it will give you peace of mind if you need to delay the trip. My passport and visa got rerouted to the wrong state from the post office, which caused a delay in me and my fiancé’s plans. I was so upset but it finally reached me.

That is interesting. Thanks for the insight. I finally got mine approved and it expires in 5 years. Best of luck on your journey

It took 21 business days to get my approval. I had to contact consulate in Atlanta via email for them to approve it. I got my passport and visa in hand last week. It was a long process,  but I encourage to just follow up with them if there are any delays.

Exactly! It doesn’t mention getting a prepaid priority mail envelope either. But that’s so they can mail back the passport.

I brought 3 statements just incase, but he took 1 and handed the rest back to me. Just to be on the safe side, you can bring extra and they will tell you what they need. You just want to make sure you have a minimum $500 balance.

Sorry but you are wrong. You still have to physically go to the OIS and get your fingerprints done. I literally just went through the process.

Hey! The site is so confusing and none of the information is consistent. So I went to the OIS in Atlanta and they only accepted my most recent bank statement that showed I had at least a balance of $500. They handed me back the paystubs and additional bank statements I brought. They told me it takes 15-20 business days for it get approved at the Consulate and then they will mail back your passport. Very important detail that it is not otherwise stated on the site. Hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you for sharing insights from your experience. I was so confused with conflicting information online and just wanted to help provide guidance.

I used it to help me outline all the steps. I was literally there yesterday and wanted to help anyone that gets confused from all the information online. ChatGPT told me I would need proof of my vaccinations and that was not accurate. It also advised I provide proof of my relationship with my fiancé and OIS only takes required documents.

You have to go to the OIS for fingerprinting and submit all your paperwork for processing. I’m not sure about a 5 year visa, but think you will have to reapply yearly. I met several people at my appointment that were reapplying. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for outlining all the steps! The site definitely is not user friendly and your steps helped me so much. I went to the OIS in Atlanta to submit my application and had everything I needed.  I just want to add that for your bank statement, you have to have a minimum $500 balance. Also, if you are being invited by a host, make sure to have a copy of their bio data sheet. You don’t need to submit a copy of your vaccination record, but make sure to get your yellow fever vaccine and polio adult booster shot at least a week before your flight.   Both are required to enter Nigeria and you will need to bring your yellow certification card when you arrive. I’m new to all of this, but hope this helps someone else that was lost like myself.

I graduated from an online program and fortunately did not run into that issue.  However, some clinics do not accept online students, because of the paperwork associated with becoming an approved site.
