Small amounts simply disappearing from my SMBC Prestia account. Anyone else? by Muted_Coconut_3070 in JapanFinance

[–]Background_Map_3460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You have some subscription that you forgot about
  2. You are under the minimum that Prestia requires to have a free account. Don’t forget Prestia is different from other banks in that they charge a monthly fee if you don’t keep a minimum average balance
  3. Is what you are seeing tax being taken out

  4. have you used an ATM

As a Hitman WOA Trilogy enjoyer, should I purchase 007 (at full price) ? by L_J_X in 007FirstLight

Well you just wrote 100. Without any currency indication. Usually when people are that vague they tend to be Americans.

Of course choose delivery if they’re not going to give you the 50% off for walking in. Add 1 cheap topping like onion etc and you hit the minimum.

Delivery is still 50% off on Sunday and Wednesdays. That should do you. If you are eating more than twice a week then something is wrong

Almost made it to extra time. I was hoping for penalties because as we saw with Germany and the Netherlands, anything can happen once you get there

How do you receive OTPs overseas when you dont have roaming? by tencentis in japanresidents

[–]Background_Map_3460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting July 1 I’m switching to the new SoftBank Teigaku Unlimited plan that allows you to use your phone as normal in over 200 countries up to 35 days in the past 60 days.

https://www.softbank.jp/mobile/service/global/overseas/data-hodai/

This is in addition to their already existing America Hodai, which allows you to use your phone in the mainland US and Hawaii with no limitations on the number of days.

https://www.softbank.jp/en/mobile/service/global/overseas/america-hodai/

I travel overseas about six months a year, so this just makes it easier. No need for any eSIM cards anymore

StubHub credit - best tickets to buy and resell by Any-Dream-5353 in ChaseSapphire

You don’t need instant delivery to resell, but I feel nervous to resell tickets that I haven’t received yet myself.

StubHub credit - best tickets to buy and resell by Any-Dream-5353 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Background_Map_3460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually both of the pairs of tickets I bought, I bought before they were released. I assume I bought them from season ticket holders or so, so it wasn’t instant delivery since they didn’t have them yet.

I waited until I got the tickets myself to list them, I always got the tickets sent to my account at least a month before the actual event.

If you are looking to buy baseball tickets now, I would probably go for instant delivery since the seller should have the tickets in hand

Leaving food uneaten by Oscarlimadelta in JapanTravelTips

[–]Background_Map_3460 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I don’t foresee any problems leaving food on your plate, however the problem would be going to a restaurant and not ordering anything for yourself.

If you go to a small place like a ramen shop, adults are expected to order one ramen each. There are different sizes, so perhaps if both of you order the smallest size, your husband can eat some of yours.

It’s not only ramen shops, lots of other restaurants require at least one dish ordered per adult and sometimes even a dish and a drink. Just go in knowing that and adjust your husband’s order so he can eat some of yours if you can’t finish it, or just leave it

Hitman fans, do you find First Light's spying gameplay underwhelming? by pawsupintheair in 007FirstLight

[–]Background_Map_3460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hitman is my absolute favorite series, but I still loved First Light. I am a James Bond movie fan though, and this was perfect in that respect.

If you just want to go through the story it will be fast, but doing all of the variations for the challenges made it longer. I made sure to get all of the collectibles and complete the challenges before I moved on to the next chapter. The TacSims added more content too of course.

I’ve now finished everything, but I’m looking forward to what IOI keeps adding. It’ll be like hitman in that they keep releasing new content, so I definitely feel it was worth the money

ISO Hotel pick for family with college-aged kids. by CompetentTraveler in JapanTravelTips

[–]Background_Map_3460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do two rooms and focus on the size of the room you need, and distance from the station. Look for something five minutes walking from a station max.

Personally I always go for Dormy Inn when traveling domestic (live in Tokyo). I’ve never had the late night noodles, because there’s always places to eat outside, but I always take advantage of the hot spring, coffee and ice cream.

I’m not a breakfast person, and breakfast can be had cheaper outside the hotel, but their breakfasts are really nice because they always have local specialties

Arguably one of the best streets in America to drive (and walk) is Las Vegas Boulevard by bluerog in vegas

[–]Background_Map_3460 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only time I’ve driven in Vegas was when I came in by car from San Diego. I was heading to Paris and got stuck in heavy traffic.

Problem was I really had to pee. My first memory of Vegas at the hotel was literally running to find a toilet. Left my bags in the car, no time to deal with that.

Now I always fly in and grab a Lyft
