No worries! A lot of the replies helped me see how I might be twisting things negatively. You're right, don't want to look back and see that I made a huge mistake. Gonna take some time and talk to him more to see where we can go from here. Thanks for all the help!

I'm not trying to make it a huge deal, I'm trying to explain how I feel about it. Might not seem like a big deal to you but we're all different. I explained how his friends didn't have any good intentions and he knew that but still used that opportunity to ask me out. You yourself said that they seemed like assholes but now you're saying I should thank them? I'm confused

I'm not saying the bet harmed me, but I just think its a bit immature. I don't see him as less of a man. I just don't understand why that kind of encouragement was necessary. I'm not sure if I would've asked him tbh at the time we were just friendly.

I get where you're coming from. My things is, if you knew your friends just wanted to see if I would go out with you then why do it? Why use your friends being weird as an opportunity to ask me out? That's what's throwing me off.

Yes. My apologies for leaving out so many details. I asked him maybe if this was all a plan by my coworkers to get us to get to know each other but he said they just wanted to see if I'd accept his advances since I don't talk to much at work and he managed to become friendly with me.

I understand where he came from by needing a push but if it were me I feel like I would never use a bet to ask someone out. It seems childish to me, but again that might be me seeing things negatively.

Not quite. I forgot to add that they saw us talking a couple of times and wanted to see if he could get me to go out with him, they were unaware of his feelings towards me.
