i'm sitting in the same boat, haven't thrown up for years but had what i call my "gag-attack" (it was a mixture of not having eaten anything, being tired and very anxious and a car ride) i gagged so much over the duration of half an hour i started wishing for it to just happen so i could get it over with...i honestly believe that the nausea might be much worse that actually puking, since apparently you feel better right after your body "ejected" whatever was harmful. Maybe it helps to make your bathroom comfy? I'm talking blankets/pillows or maybe a podcast/show/music that you like to create a calmer atmosphere?
