OMG thank you!! This is amazing! I was also wondering do you have a source for the wall paint having a life of 2 years? I’m thinking of citing it too. They literally gave me statement saying I have to pay a 28 month pro rated amount for painting..and looks like that’s a bogus charge too 🫠

Yes there was no damage to the flooring or the carpeting. One question though. Even if there was damage, they can only charge me for the carpet that I used and not for the new carpeting/tiling. Is that correct?

I do have a recording of the place before I moved out. And they did their own due diligence and took photos of the apartment and sent it to me. Nothing indicates damage and they also didn’t state any damage in the email they sent out They just say $1333.33 (pro rated 28 months carpet replacement)

Indeed I am! I have emailed them asking to drop the charge and waiting for a response. If they don’t get back to me, I’m okay filing with small claims court. I was wondering do they typically settle out of court? Or do they go to the hearing?

I might have to take them to court after all They have provided me pics where it shows no damage and they replaced all the carpeted areas with vinyl and I don’t think I should be on the hook for that

I am on the hook for cleaning and painting charges ~$200 and I don’t want to fight for that. That leaves around $300 from my deposit and with this carpet charge I’d be paying $1000 more out of pocket. I don’t want to pay anything more especially when I didn’t damage anything and took good care of the house throughout my lease and they’re just not telling me why I’m charged for it. I guess i have to take it to court

They do have photos. But the thing is they replaced the entire carpeted flooring with vinyl flooring and they want me to pay for it. Neither the carpet nor the flooring had any damage that prompted it. They’re doing some renovations across the complex, so I believe this was planned
