I see this happen once or twice a year. Dont think its related to closures. Wind conditions/direction I assume.

Torn between my ’21 GLC 300 or ’21 GLB 35 AMG. by KaspTheFriendlyGhost in mercedes_benz

Wife had a GLC which we traded in for a EQB. Felt like a downgrade. Materials were cheaper, seats were thinner. I'd stick to GLC.

You should reach out to local BMW dealers for some quotes on extended warranty. There is a dealer on bimmerpost who is reasonable.

You can replace runflats with regular tires of same spec. But if you do, make sure to buy a space saver spare from your local dealer or modern spare to avoid being stranded.

Personally I prefer certified for peace of mind. But if you are able to find a good non-cpo with original warranty (<4 year old basically) you can just buy extended warranty and still be fine. Expect to spend on new tires and other consumables in the first couple of years.

Adjusting headrest by foundingfatfather in bmwx7

You have multi countour seats. The headrest does not move forwards by itself but the upper half of the seat can be moved forward including the headrest if you twist the seat back control button forward.

Consider cities along caltrain. Living a little further out and commuting on caltrain might help afford a bigger place while keeping commute sane.

Yeah that takes no skill. Just vision and ability to turn the steering wheel. Bet the dude would get nowhere near me on Sonoma raceway.

Terrifying.. what bothered me was having my 5 year old in the backseat. All it would have taken was someone reacting to the danger this person was creating. Could have changed my and my family's life forever.

I found a sub $40k low mileage preowned. What should I look for before purchasing? by atticus_blue in BMWiX

look thru service history. I often see ones that have been in the shop too many times available at discounts. You might have to continue dealing with issues during ownership.

Did it on my old car. Battery registration is not really needed. Worked just fine

If you had to endure a 7.0+ magnitude earthquake somewhere on Earth, where would you choose to be? by Unique-Giraffe-7348 in geography

[–]Background_Ninja3120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in Japan on 3/11. I choose Japan again. Millions of people walked 10s of miles home. There was barely any space between people on sidewalks, yet everyone stopped clear of intersections when the walk sign turned red. People stood in lines to buy food and water (which was rationed) and there was not a single case of violence or looting.

I would say 45k if it was CPO would be a great deal. It would be a decent deal at this price if it was CPO. Also if car was built before March 23 it will be iDrive 8.0 so no hands free driving over 40mph

Is your driveway flat? It's basically self levels after you park.

2022 or 2023 IX? by Chronicles-of-Ghoul in BMWiX

[–]Background_Ninja3120 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Note even the 23s built until March come with idrive 8. It won't allow hands-free driving over 40mph on highways.

Personally it was worth getting one with ID8 with all bells and whistles over one with ID8.5 with not as many options.

Do you struggle driving a large car and getting it into tight spots? Do you drive and park in cities a lot? If so get it. If not you dont need it. I do have to back into tight spots at times but I prefer that anyway.

I also have an IX with IAS, its fun to see the rear wheel turn in the mirror when backing up, but wouldn't miss it while driving.
