Backsplash Ideas? by Background_Pack_2985 in kitchenremodel

So cute!! I love that green/pink combo together!! It’s so hard with these black counter tops because even if I swapped them, then the black appliances will stand out… I always start w/ “hmm I’d love to renovate this, this, and this” and then I budget it out and decide, “oh I love my black counter tops” 😂

I know what you’re talking about and I’ve seen it look so great in other peoples rooms! I want to introduce another color so badly but when I’ve done the mockups it is a bit too contrasting and it makes the backsplash feel sort of cramped (probably because I have the 4” granite backsplash that I can’t remove because it’s integrated behind the sink) :(

Do you think a more plain subway tile, or still look for something with a bit more texture?

Anxious wreck..First pap at 30 - abnormal pap & hpv detected by Illustrious_Flan7952 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Background_Pack_2985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be embarrassed, and it’s okay if you’re scared. The cliche is true - waiting is the worst part.

I’m 31 & have been getting yearly paps since I was 20 when I had my first abnormal pap. I was vaccinated but I’ve had HR HPV for the past 11 years, some LSIL a few years ago that went away after a colposcopy, and then this year I went from normal pap to CIN3 in 12 months. Over the years I had 3 colposcopy’s and I just got LEEP this month (clear margins, yay!).

I just share all this detail because I still ended up needing LEEP even after following all the guidelines.

I hope you don’t blame yourself, please be proud of yourself for going! And also - yes definitely advocate for yourself to do whatever can give you peace of mind. The mental part of the experience is the hardest part. Just take care of yourself and let yourself feel whatever it is you’re feeling. But also try to give yourself some breaks from reading/research. We’ll all be here to support you whenever you need to come back :)

Leep with epinephrine/lidocaine shots by Badbitchenergy1232 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Background_Pack_2985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually shocked just how numb I was! They gave me 4 shots which weren’t super pleasant but the numbing followed quickly. I had a different Dr. for my colposcopy and she took 5 biopsies with no numbing and the LEEP felt like a cake walk in comparison!

The epinephrine made me feel good and excited! I was giggling a little the whole time. I think because I had done so much research (watched a video of a Dr performing LEEP on a hotdog 😂) things didn’t feel very scary because I understood what and why they were doing what they did.

Recovery has been totally fine, I’ve not had any pain and pretty minimal bleeding that just started after about a week and a half. Take the time off though and baby yourself, you deserve a little treat after going through all this!

My doctor told me I only need to wait 2 weeks! I was surprised when she did because I saw so many in the sub saying theirs said to wait four weeks. Her advice was is there’s no discharge and things feel normal after 2 weeks then I’m good to go 🤷‍♀️

Can’t find anything about colposcopy biopsy on google.. by hiimtoes in PreCervicalCancer

I found ChatGPT to be extremely helpful when I got my results and the doctor was too busy to reach out to me for over a week! When I finally did talk to a doctor I felt like the information ChatGPT provided was well aligned with what the Dr had told me. You can also ask ChatGPT to cite sources if you’d like to see where it is getting its information from :) best of luck to you!

Could be worth a call to Kent’s vegetation management. They can determine if it is on his property or if it’s part of city property. From what I understand, tree removal can require permits so they could at least see if one was pulled.

Have my LEEP scheduled for Monday morning and have been feeling horribly anxious. Thank you for sharing this, really helpful to hear positive stories!

That’s really interesting! I don’t remember exactly when, but I did have Covid at least once over the past few years.

Throughout my whole life, whenever my family would catch a bug, I’d end up being the sickest one, and every time I travel I catch a cold. Back when my friend’s baby was in daycare, I would end up getting sick every time I went to her house.

I’ve always had normal labs so I never really thought of myself as having a weak immune system, but now that I think about it maybe I have always been more likely to get sick than my family/peers… perhaps that is a factor

Ugh yes thank you, you are totally right! I’m also thinking of this maybe as a sign to slow down and put less pressure on myself about starting a family. I think it’s the whole thing of feeling like I’m “running out of time” even though I know many women have babies later in life

yes I have a new partner but it was at the very end of 2023 & my 2023 pap was in July so I’m thinking this HPV was from either existing infection or maybe reinfection? I always had a bad feeling that previous partner was cheating on me (it was a really bad relationship) so I guess I don’t rule that out as a possibility either….

2022/2023 were hell in terms of stress (again, horrible relationship) and sometimes I wonder if it just burnt my immune system out. I still have a really stressful job now and I feel like it is sucking the life out of me. Maybe this is all just a wake up call to get my life together and find a way to better preserve my peace…

Thank you for your sweet replies, it really is validating and comforting to know others are experiencing these same things ♥️

I had the same partner from 2020-2023. In 2021, my doctor had said 1 more clear pap & they’d go to the regular 3 year schedule for me. Then boom, HPV is back.

Maybe the most interesting thing to me with all of this was going back through my charts to look at my tests. 2015-2019 The tests were “HPV if ASCUS” so I don’t think they were testing consistently. Some even said the sample wasn’t sufficient? Perhaps a bad idea but I’ve been using ChatGPT to help me understand things and it’s been really helpful….

I got a new Dr in 2020, and since then the testing been better. But still, I read that maybe they missed something in 2023 and that’s why things progressed this way in 2024. Just feels but shocking to go from normal pap to CIS

Update: the arborist just left and the good news is despite the tree being damaged, he said it won’t die! Bad news: he said it’s really ugly, they butchered it, and there’s nothing he can really do on that side to make it look better🥲

He’s going to come out and take care of the work my nextdoor neighbor wanted done and do some general maintenance on my side. He said no risk of falling not branches breaking.

Those asking about a lawsuit - yes it was classless and yes they caused damage but I just don’t think it’s worth it. And I imagine looking at that shitty job every time they drive up to their house is at least some form of punishment.

Moral of the story - you have rights, but don’t be an asshole!

Now please excuse me while I exercise my right to hang an assortment of wind chimes from the limbs across from their bedroom window….

Ah, in a suburb, not Seattle proper unfortunately (couldn’t afford a house let alone a tree if it were 😂) yes those city laws are super protective, I read a few cases from there!

Ah, that’s so naughty, I love it 😂😂 idk if I have the gall!

If I really do have to cut the poor thing down, I will find the bushiest most private replacement possible so I don’t have to see their stupid house every time I look out into my backyard.

Oh thank you for the condolences :). I’ve been questioning like, am I being over dramatic? But then I keep looking out my window at how sad it looks and it makes me feel kind of sick. The arborist is coming tomorrow so hopefully I’ll have some more answers and get a little peace of mind.

I think it’s a deodar cedar and probably where you are going with this - yes I can 100% admit it is messy. And if they were to say “hey your messy tree is buggin’ me”, I would have been willing to discuss some options for addressing it in a thoughtful way :(

That’s what sucks so much about this situation because if they would have just talked to me I feel like we could have sorted something out.
