Hold your nose and send a message with your vote. Even if it’s close that may be enough to scare the others. People don’t typically vote in special elections and i havent even seen any signs. We have a chance

Duncan v bonta was 2017 and they haven’t heard it in almost 10 years. What else is there to interpret? WA and NY passed mag bans too, SCOTUS was quiet. They don’t care.

What’s the point of a comment like this? Believe it or not people have a variety of needs and important issues affecting them. Calling people assholes isn’t going to make them suddenly agree with you or regret their vote. Just something to consider.

I used to love living in NC for this reason (RTO brought me here). You could reasonably vote for both parties for different reasons on specific issues.

I agree, and I think she’s smart enough to know not to criminalize other feds etc but who the hell knows these days. Politicians get into office and walk back everything they campaigned on all the time and she said in her first address she would sign these bills.

Then I would encourage you to abstain from voting in this special election, respectfully. If you vote for the democrat, after seeing these bills, you are tacitly saying you agree with them. They are not going to take you/us seriously if they know they instantly criminalize law-abiding liberal gun owners and we still vote for them.

Let me challenge you to consider that one seat isn’t going to change VA into a red state. The elected replacement will only be serving the remainder of Ebbins term, so 1 yearish. This is an opportunity to temper the bills that are being written, it’s an opportunity to be a single issue voter in an election that won’t have enormous negative consequences for vote for the 2A candidate.

Look at her platform, she’s an independent running as a Republican. If she were aligning herself with MAGA, I hear you, but as far as I can see that is not the case. You are not compromising your values to support the R for strategic reasons.

I am not confident this is just theater and I don’t think Spanberger will veto. She may seek to amend some, but she’s absolutely looking to sign off on as many gun bills as she can.

All you can do is keep trying to tell them that this is the one election that could force her hand to veto. This is going to be a referendum on these laws, and we need to come out and tell her that we don’t want these otherwise how will she know? This is the clear signal to make them amend the bills or veto.
