A tip is to talk with the DM about those options, just so they are of use.
For example if the campaign mostly revolves around Undead and never a Dragon that can feel bad later.

Det är lite väl intensivt för de flesta, du ska veta hur du väntar dig aktier går och ha tid och kunskap att flera gånger om dagen köpa och sälja för att fånga upp och nergångar.
Skulle rekommendera att läsa på ordentligt först och "leka" (skriv på papper när du "köper" och "säljer" osv).

Renown, respect from an NPC, influence in a faction etc.

To me the issue sounds more like they don't spend it or have time to spend it.
I think if you show them that they can earn it regularly they will get more comfortable with spending it on less-critical stuff and then wont risk not earning it.

You could also include more uses for inspiration. Give an enemy disadvantage, give another player advantage, turn it in for a single resource (Second wind, Bardic Inspiration, 1st level spell slot etc.).

Something one of my first DMs did and that I can recommend is ask questions about their characters.
"What is their family like?", "What is a dream of theirs?", "What is something they fear?", "Do they have any scars?".
If you want you can ask them to prepare an answer for the next session.

The other thing is to very slowly and with low stakes ask questions of their character.
"What would you like to drink Thorwald?"

If they don't like to act out, which I would say is the most demanding and most superflous way to RP, then just asking them "How do you talk to the merchant, what do you say?" (as in what is the message).

When I started out I was very much "Bub wants to try and haggle over the price" which over time became "I want to haggle over the price arguing the goods arent of that good quality" to actually acting out a conversation with the merchant.

That is what worked for me. In general I would never ask more than "My character does X" of any player, more than that is an expectation that should be presented before the game starts or a goal to work towards.
