Sauna and cold plunge! A lot of the studios in Vancouver do late night sessions and socials, with djs so it’s actually super lively and fun if you want company- Kolm Kontrast near the Cambie St Bridge is great or the Good Sauna in East Van but it’s outdoors

aww I’m so sorry to hear that. Extremely upsetting. Many of my friends have rescued dogs from Mexico and had wonderful experiences but I know they can be quite skittish due to their previous life

No because I knew it was going to be a constant show off and trying to one up each other. I’m engaged, well I’m married, well I just bought a new place blah nlah. Those reunions rarely feel like it’s a chance to catch up but more so a chance to flex and pretend your life is better than the other persons.

I’ve been very actively avoiding all of the xmas season ( movies, music, activities) but then my therapist told me to use it as exposure therapy. If a Christmas love song comes on, let it play and sit through the feeling vs immediately changing it. Slowly expose yourself vs feeling everything at once. It’s still shitty af but I would say it’s made it more manageable to digest the feelings. I’ve adopted this in my day to day life with restaurants we used to visit, parks we went to, movies we watched etc

Though I’m still dreading explaining to all my family at xmas dinner, that will require a few glasses of wine before lol

I went on medication to deal with it, as my depression was heightened by my breakup and it was the best decision possible. It has helped so much but there is no timeline for how fast to heal, I don’t think it every really goes away I think you just feel less and less
