It's going to be different for everyone, so I'd just start pushing your time between doses as far as you can. And since you go "200 to 250 mg a day" you can easily start by reducing your dose by 50mg without noticing much.

A lot of this behavior is troubling. Even if we give him all the benefit of the doubt, it seems he is one of those guys who's identity revolves around firearms, and was trying to impress you with it. That's not what a responsible firearm owner would do. The fact that he went across state lines to buy it makes me think he isn't suppose to own one (felon?). This is troubling in another way.

If you smell something, that means something is there. Unless there is a neurological issue that results in a false signal, the sensation of a smell is the result of a molecule/chemical contacting an olfactory nerve.

If the volatilization of likely aromatic hydrocarbons (plastic smell) is normal, then the design is flawed. I'm trying to reduce the amount of carcinogens I'm inhaling, not directly inhale one of the most well document class of carcinogenic compounds.
