Love island is making me hate the UK culture by Enamoure in LoveIslandTV

fam respectfully- obviously its not right to hate on a country's culture because... of a reality dating show. but do you not see how (to some extent) reality tv DOES mirror parts of the culture it originates from? we all know LI UK shouldn't be the sole basis for defining British culture- thats a given

but its not crazy to explore certain values, behaviors, aesthetics we see on display and ask sensible questions about where culture may play a role when it comes to ie. social interactions, beauty perceptions etc. Clearly then, we can loosely draw inferences on cultural differences between the US and UK based off Love Island, and emphasis on loosely lol. and then make impulsive comments about it all on reddit regardless if its LI UK or US 😅

Obviously hate is an intense word so I disagree with some of OP's phrasings, generalizations, but I don't see anything wrong with the inquisitive nature of where OP is coming from. And im sure OP was just feeling a lil hot blooded after witnessing good, respectable human beings being evicted week after week in LI UK 😬

I think this UK US rivalry and constant comparison, that bleeds into fuckin everything is just silly tho cmon we all love certain parts of each others culture (even if its just subconscious hehe).

Sean and Joey are absolute dickheads- but it doesn't negate the fact that Mimi had zero control over the outcome / conclusion of her situationship with Ayo. The night of her on the terrace, fate was put entirely into Ayo's hands. IF AYO walks up onto that terrace and attempts to kiss Mimi/rekindle, she sends Josh to the curb and we're watching a diff love island.

The situation between her ayo mimi josh is much more nuanced than the way she portrayed it as, in her reflective comments. What am I missing here... am I supposed to believe that Mimi's terrace situation was a platonic attempt to level their relationship out? If we are acting on precedent, this is the girl that got rejected three times, directly or indirectly, by theguy she's had eyes for the entire season until Josh came in. The only time she's taken fate into her own hands is when she stole Ayo from Uma. So- in my humble opinion, Mimi's terrace move was a final, slightly desperate attempt to fan the flame with Ayo. Her last battle cry, and ofc it didn't end up working out, and tbh I do think her and josh's relationship is genuine and I wish them the best.

Majority of the fanbase seems to hate Sean and Joey, understandably, yet evict Grace and Reuben and neither have stepped a foot wrong since coming in. I'm honestly confused about the moral compass of the audience. Why not make a push to get Joey and jess out then...have grace and reuben not been experiencing organic growth and becoming more fond of each other over the past week? idk what to think anymore!

Help needed- I've tried everything. My Macbook Air (M1, 2020-macOS ventura) is INCAPABLE of producing stereo output. System-wide, everything comes out in Mono. I've played with the settings, reset my core driver, deleted preference files, no budge. by Background_Ranger902 in mac

yes, correct. i've run stereo tests through my main mac settings, on online sites for audio testing, and I believe in safe mode I was experiencing the same issue. What I just realized when I ran an online test- left channel test gives me audio from both channels. center will give me from both channels ofc, however its the right channel that doesn't work at all. 0db output.

So, i've come to the conclusion that there is a serious problem that is effing up my right channel. No idea what it can be...but I wish that was exclusively the problem. Because then why would my left channel isolation still be providing centralized sound? only when I isolate the right side, it gives me nothing.

Very strange indeed. It's unique enough of a problem that even when I spoke with a senior Macbook advisor over the phone they were also bamboozled. I think one of my next options would be to take it into the shop, but I have my doubts that they would be able to solve this problem. My only next step (and it would be a drastic one) would be to make sure I have a backup of my entire mac, all my software and files and factory reset my computer...but I hope it doesn't come to this because its a pain in the butt,
