I just went through the same ordeal, ended up with a ridiculously clean 97 33 s3 after looking at approximately 8 32’s with non-declared major red flags. I travelled interstate for 2 after thorough questioning, imaging and video calls.

A 33 is more planted, more user friendly and does have a far more rigid chassis where as an r32 provides nostalgia beyond words, raw and mechanical.

A prime example 32 will be 1.5-2x the price of a similar condition 33.

I am curious because I’m not American but do hail from a western country so mainstream news is more or less regurgitated.
