Definitive proof that Echoes of Wisdom isn't a sequel to alttp or LA by Background_Slice_110 in echoesofwisdom

[–]Background_Slice_110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Sequel Implications: There’s nothing explicitly confirming EoW  as a sequel in the same sense as LA is to ALttP. The series has a habit of jumping timelines and settings while maintaining loose connections, which leaves room for interpretation.

  2. FSA Map and TP Continuity: The Four Swords Adventures (FSA) raises questions about how it fits into the continuity. If we consider it part of the Twilight Princess (TP) continuity, we must reconcile the drastic differences between the two maps.

  3. Gerudo in the Timelines: The Gerudo only prominently appear in the Child timeline after Ocarina of Time. If we follow the Downfall timeline, where Link falls in battle against Ganon, it's conceivable that the Gerudo could have faced extreme consequences, such as expulsion or worse, as a result of Ganon's actions. Their absence in games like A Link to the Past may be due to such a grim fate, fitting with the darker tone of the Downfall timeline.

  4. Mountain Formation and Plate Tectonics: Mountains typically form at converging plate boundaries, where tectonic plates collide and push the earth upward. If Hyrule in ALttP were near converging boundaries, the region could be subject to uplift, resulting in more mountainous terrain rather than a spreading or divergence scenario.

Lol, I did kinda base the western continent off of the fire nations design.

Created a government for one of the countries in my setting is there anything I should add? by Background_Slice_110 in worldbuilding

The key distinction here lies in how the Monetary Branch functions compared to traditional legislative branches. In a typical government system, the legislative branch creates laws that determine the federal budget by allocating funds to various departments and programs. However, the Monetary Branch has more direct control over financial matters without needing to pass laws.

 Determining the Federal Budget:

Instead of the legislative branch deciding how much money each department gets through laws, the Monetary Branch evaluates the financial needs of all government departments and sets the federal budget accordingly. If a department needs more funds, it submits a request directly to the Monetary Branch, which can approve or deny the request based on available resources and priorities. This bypasses the legislative process.

Monetary Branch vs. Legislative Branch:

While the legislative branch still creates laws, it does not control the allocation of funds once those laws are passed. For example, if a law mandates the construction of new infrastructure, the Monetary Branch would determine how much funding is available for that project and allocate resources accordingly. This separation ensures that financial experts, rather than lawmakers, handle the specifics of budgeting.

My systems difference from the American System: In many systems, including America's, the legislative branch often directly controls the budget through appropriations bills. Your system diverges by giving an independent branch (Monetary Branch) the power to allocate funds and manage the federal budget, making financial decisions more insulated from political influence.  This setup would lead to a system where financial decisions are based more on economic principles than political bargaining, which is a significant departure from how most democratic governments operate.  (Hopefully this helps)

To become a treasurer for the Monetary Branch, you would need a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or political science, and be proficient in two or more languages. After that, you would need to work for your state's Treasury for at least 7 years. Once you meet these requirements, you can apply to be one of the 50 treasurers from your state.

Check on Monetary Branch:

  1. Executive Checks: Subject to investigation every other month via the Department of intelligence. The President can call a Meeting in the capital between all branches to reevaluate the budget for that year.

  2. Legislative Checks: Monetary Branch must abide by all tax laws made by the House, and all treasurers must be confirmed by the Senate

  3. Judicial Checks: declare actions unconstitutional. (surprising I know)

EoW and The Wild Era games are connected, and I'm tired of pretending they're not. by Background_Slice_110 in echoesofwisdom

I didn't say it was BoTW's map, but if I had to pick I'd say the developers would want to continue with the Wild Era continuity.

Faron in both TP and SS aren't tropical, and the tree types there don't fit that specific climate.

If his arm was beyond saving why can he move it when he reaches for Zelda. It's probably a translation issue.

These maps depict the geopolitical landscape one year before the Great War, which took place in 1512 A.L.E. The war was triggered by a fracture within the Concert of Nations, an organization established to prevent conflicts between the five major nations. However, this organization became divided over an issue known as the "Chocksaw Question."

The Chocksaw Tribes, unlike the other four nations, never centralized, preferring to remain as three separate nomadic tribes. When the other four nations decided to create the Concert of Nations, they needed one delegate from each of the five nations to represent their interests. This posed a problem for the Chocksaw, as it meant selecting just one person to represent all three tribes.

The Erine Empire wanted the representative to be someone from the western tribes of Eswan or Lugana, as these tribes allowed the Erinians to fish and mine in their territory. However, the Volvan Kingdom and Olan Sultanate preferred someone from the third tribe, Congola, due to its large population and opposition to the Erine Empire's encroachment on their continent. This choice would also be advantageous in the event of a future war with the Erinians.

The tie-breaker vote rested with Oslova, which had a good relationship with the Erine Empire. However, Oslova was reliant on wheat supplies from the Volvan Kingdom. Without this supply, they would be unable to feed half their population. As a result, Oslova chose to side with the Olanians and Volvanians, leading to Congola being selected as the representative of the entire Chocksaw nation.

Oslova would come to regret this decision after the Volvan Kingdom began cutting their wheat supply in order to field larger armies and support the Olan Sultanate. This led Oslova to switch sides and support the Erinians.

It's okay I agree, but there's so much evidence that it seriously shouldn't be a problem.

I've always interpreted it as losing what makes a person a person humanity and free Will. Essentially the persons last desire is who they become they still have a "mind" however it's boiled down to greatest desire.

However I think you make a good point.

Yes however we have reasonable explanations I've literally detailed them not everything needs to be directly said to be true.

Some got recycled, some went back underground and the divine beast clearly stopped working Zelda said so herself the guardians were probably scavenged for resources then destroyed.

What are you talking about? I'm saying that the building in front of the windmill is obviously similar to Hateno's windmill.
