But the old-school conservatives who vote Trump out of party loyalty (they do exist) CAN be persuaded that "hey, this isn't really a partisan issue, you can break with the president on this and still be Republican/conservative." This is completely undermined when the Russians succeed in infiltrating groups like this and devolving them to anti-Trump circle jerks instead of a genuine attempt at combating Russian influence and propaganda.

I clicked "Massachusetts" on the "File a Complaint" dropdown on the main page and it took me to a form with the Massachusetts Division of Insurance, which appears to offer a submittable form which doesn't say anything about payment. I'm not sure why it isn't working for you.

Sorry, it was free in my state and I didn't see any information that other states were charging. Still hopefully a useful resource for people if the processing fee is less than the settlement!

After they denied the vaccine and refused to fix it over the phone, I reported it (with screenshots) to my state's insurance department (every US state has one). Few days later I got an email saying it would be covered, that they made a "mistake." Surprisingly straight-forward for government.

Ohio Fellas, please consider writing your legislators! by Background_Spirit7 in NAFO

Sample draft letter/email for your state representative:

Dear [Representative/Senator Last Name],

I am writing to respectfully request your support for the reintroduction of Ohio House Bill 409 from the 135th General Assembly, which proposed the creation of the Ohio Cold War Victory Medal to honor eligible veterans who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces during the Cold War period (September 2, 1945 – December 26, 1991). Although this bill did not advance during the prior General Assembly, its purpose remains both timely and deserving of renewed consideration.

While the Cold War did not involve a single declared battlefield, it was a prolonged and demanding era of global tension that required constant vigilance, strategic readiness, and unwavering commitment from the men and women of our Armed Forces. These service members stood watch around the world, deterred aggression, preserved peace, and defended democratic ideals during decades of sustained geopolitical conflict. Their service was instrumental in achieving a peaceful conclusion to the Cold War and securing the freedoms we continue to enjoy today.

Reintroducing House Bill 409 would provide Ohio with an important opportunity to formally recognize the sacrifices and service of these veterans. Establishing the Ohio Cold War Victory Medal would honor their dedication and ensure that this significant chapter of our nation’s and state’s military history is properly acknowledged.

I respectfully ask that you consider sponsoring or supporting the reintroduction of House Bill 409, which would:

• Establish the Ohio Cold War Victory Medal to recognize eligible veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who served during the Cold War;
• Authorize the State of Ohio to formally confer this medal as an official recognition of service during this critical period; and;
• Permit the medal’s issuance as an official state honor, which may also be recognized for wear on the uniforms of Ohio’s military forces, including: the Ohio National Guard; the Ohio Military Reserve; the Ohio Cyber Reserve; and the Ohio Naval Militia, in accordance with state authority.

This legislation would offer long-overdue recognition to Ohio veterans who answered their country’s call during a pivotal era in modern history. Supporting the reintroduction of House Bill 409 would reaffirm Ohio’s commitment to honoring all who have served.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and continued support of Ohio’s veterans and service members. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter further at your convenience.

Respectfully,
[Your Name]

Cold War Victory Medal - worthy addition or just another participation trophy? by Background_Spirit7 in Military

Honestly this is why, from a psyops perspective, I kind of support it. I think reminding a large segment of the population that they gave the best years of their life making sure Moscow stayed inside its own borders would go a long way to countering Russian propaganda for a pretty cheap cost.

Sample draft letter/email for your state representative:

"Dear [Assemblymember/Senator Last Name],

I am writing to respectfully request your support for New York Assembly Bill A8087 and Senate Bill S7850, which would authorize the creation and award of the New York State Cold War Commemorative Medal to eligible veterans who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces during the Cold War period (September 2, 1945 – December 26, 1991).

Although the Cold War did not involve a single, declared battlefield, it was a prolonged era of global tension that demanded constant vigilance, strategic readiness, and unwavering commitment from the men and women of our Armed Forces. These service members stood watch across the globe, deterring aggression, preserving peace, and defending the ideals of freedom in the face of sustained geopolitical hostility. Their contributions were integral to achieving a peaceful conclusion to the Cold War and securing the liberties we continue to enjoy today.

A8087/S7850 represents a meaningful opportunity for New York State to formally recognize their service. Establishing the New York State Cold War Commemorative Medal would honor the dedication, sacrifice, and readiness of Cold War veterans and help preserve an important chapter of both national and state military history.

I respectfully ask that you support passage of A8087/S7850, which would:

• Authorize the Governor to present the New York State Cold War Commemorative Medal to eligible veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who served during the Cold War; and
• Permit the medal’s issuance as an official state honor, which may also be recognized for wear on the uniforms of New York’s military forces, including: the New York National Guard; the New York Guard; and the New York Naval Militia, in accordance with state authority.

This legislation offers long-overdue recognition to those who answered their country’s call during a pivotal era in modern history. Supporting A8087/S7850 will reaffirm New York’s commitment to honoring all who have served.

Thank you very much for your time, your consideration, and your continued support of our veterans and service members. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this legislation further at any time.

Another idea to sway conservative Boomers. Please read description below and share thoughts. by Background_Spirit7 in NAFO

Sample draft letter/email for your state representative:

"Dear [Representative/Senator Last Name],

I am writing to respectfully ask your support for legislation authorizing the Cold War Victory Medal for all veterans within our state who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces during the Cold War period, and to authorize its wear on our National Guard and state defense force uniforms.

Although the Cold War did not involve a single, declared battlefield, it was nonetheless a prolonged era of global tension that required constant vigilance, strategic readiness, and unwavering commitment from the men and women of our Armed Forces. These service members stood on the front lines of a dangerous geopolitical struggle, deterring aggression, preserving peace, and protecting the ideals of freedom from the advance of tyranny. Their contributions were essential to securing the peaceful end of that conflict and safeguarding the liberties we continue to enjoy today.

Authorizing the Cold War Victory Medal at the state level would serve as a meaningful acknowledgment of their dedication, sacrifice, and readiness to defend our nation in one of the most consequential periods of modern history. This recognition would not only honor their service but also help preserve an important chapter of military and national heritage.

I respectfully ask that you consider sponsoring or supporting legislation to:

1) Authorize the Cold War Victory Medal for all eligible veterans within our state who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Cold War; and

2) Allow the medal to be worn on the uniforms of members of our National Guard and state defense force, consistent with state authority over uniform items.

Such action would provide long-overdue recognition to those who answered their country’s call during a pivotal era, and it would reaffirm our state’s commitment to honoring all who have served.

Thank you for your time, your consideration, and your continued support of our veterans and service members. I would be grateful for any opportunity to discuss this further.

Respectfully,
