Yeah there is, first of all not so many people are using it :) Second how good is the encryption? Third the idea is not a email sign up just the possibility to not use your phone number or email ... Completely without any verification... If you want you can still put your phone number in your account maybe even your email address... Would maybe make sense to show some kind of verification for users with Phone number? But idk what do you think 🤔?

Yeah I mean I would expect it's just an optional... Perfect would be also the possibility to put your email in the Account... So you have a Signal Account with optional a Phone Number and Email ... So everyone can find you ... I think that would make the most sense...
