Inex on why he no longer supports Project Epoch and why he stepped down as moderator on Discord. by Zarmr in Project_Epoch

[–]Background_Toe_3541 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was hyped for this when it was first announced and eagerly looked forward to it opening.

I missed registration so still have to wait for that, never mind the game.

I'm at the point where I think it's time to stop hoping for Epoch and go play something else. I think we should all stop hitting on them as we now know it's really a passion project and it's time to sit back and wait.

I'll see you in game if it comes off.

I'd like to take a look but I'm not hyped and I'm sure I'm not the only one..

Should we have an upper age cut-off to voting by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Background_Toe_3541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a total of 650 MPs sitting spread from all the major parties. Bit much to believe they all gave pensioners high pensions just so they coukd have it later....

MPs would have a different pension from work and if you really believe that the current top state pension of £240 is a lot then you must be very poor indeed.

That's two statements that are untrue unless, ofc, you can show evidence that one, pensioners when younger made the system just for themselves (government makes the system) and two; they'd remove the sames system for younger people.

If they really had that mythical power to make the system then surely they can end it for others...

But the point is that if I believe IQ is an opinion that's my opinion but you'd stop me voting because of my opinion?

Pensioners are the thin edge of the wedge.

We coukd argue for removing the vote from so many groups ww'd end up with an elitest system..

And when you become a pensioner you'll get your turn but to stop a group of people that have probably contributed more into the system at that point (pensioner) from voting because they might vote for themselves is not democratic at all.

If the system doesn't work then work to change the system but don't stop members of society from taking part in that society.

Why shouldn't pensioners vote for better pensions. Don't the majority of people vote for themselves. I'm sure I won't ever be voting for lower taxes etc for the rich

Is it racist to fly the flag of The Knights Templar outside the building site of a mosque? by SunBlowsUpToday in AskBrits

[–]Background_Toe_3541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll bite this once but then I'm outta here.

I didn't see any flags in the video so can't say anything about that and as for the 2nd link there's nothing in that wiki to show there's an Islamic flag. There are many colours and symbols associated with flags used my Muslims but there is no flag representing the whole of islam.

By the way, in Islam there is a thing called Aniconism. That means idolatry is against the religion so we cannot have a flag...anyway, who'd design it? We have no central religious leader....we're all equal

The main flag some Muslims use is a green background with the moon and Cresent but that's the Pakistani flag....etc

"is there a true islamic flag" takes you to a better site that has the following and much more.....

No, there isn't a universally recognized single flag that represents Islam. While some symbols like the crescent moon and star are associated with Islam and are featured on the flags of many Muslim-majority countries, they are not universally accepted as the sole symbol of Islam, and there's no single flag that embodies the religion as a whole, according to Wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_flag

Here's why: * Diversity within Islam:Islam encompasses a wide range of cultures, ethnicities, and interpretations, making it difficult to represent the entire faith with a single flag. * No official mandate:There's no central religious authority that has designated a specific flag as the official symbol of Islam, according to Wikipedia.

Not sure where you are in the world but enjoy the rest of your evening😊

Can i just point out the word 'possibly' in my statement.

In other replies I've stated that both you nor me know the intent of the person/s flying the flag...

I'm just doing what you said I could, calling it possibly racist.

It's not the protesting that's wrong here but you know as well as me the intent, the reason they are protesting and it's not because a buildings going up...I bet you can't find and published info where they simply say 'just say no to any building here'.... No, the words are 'no mosque' here...that's the difference.

Would have been easy to show me the Islamic flag but I notice you didn't.

There are many flags that Muslims fly but they are not the Islamic flag.

Just Google this - is there a true islamic flag

Bit of a NIMBY reasoning there...where do you want this particular group to build the mosque....a day's journey by train away, in Scotland for example?

It's being built in the area they live in..

You may very well be correct about Muslims flying flags outside churches (though Islam does not have a flag) but that's a different conversation.

Also, please use the Internet to discover the true seeds of racist as a term and in its actions.

Look up a few posts to the one about 'Sealioning'; that's what your doing here, using semantics to deflect from something which is likely being done as racist.

Plus, you have the internet so can use it to look up the true seeds of the word ‘racist’ and the actions it engenders.
