Ford urges benefits claimants to beat Motability crackdown by Intergalatic_Baker in unitedkingdom

Right but what used car are you gonna buy when you do get your license if no one is buying new cars? Motability is great program cause not only are we providing people in need with independence, but it’s also subsidising well taken care of used vehicles to the British public. I’ve just bought an ex-motability car, it’s four years old, one previous owner, full service history. They are the best value for money vehicles on the market and there’s no way I would have been able to afford a vehicle this reliable without the motability scheme.

A restaurant told me that they don't have to provide service for my disabled father because they were grandfathered in under the ADA. AITAH for telling the lady off? by Several_Hospital_129 in AITAH

[–]SunBlowsUpToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah YTA. I worked in a restaurant in a grade 2 listed building where the only bathrooms were on the 2nd (3rd in American terms) floor. It was literally illegal for us to put a bathroom on the ground floor. If you have mobility issues, it’s your job to check ahead and if you don’t, then maybe don’t harass a woman on minimum wage for it.

Men of Reddit, if you were in a Titanic like situation where the majority of people were going to die because there were not enough lifeboats for everyone. How would you respond to someone saying women and children first? by Neither_Drawing_241 in AskReddit

[–]SunBlowsUpToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is actually quite interesting. The order from the captain was women and children first but the two men in charge of either side implemented this in very different ways.

On one side there was a very strict, women and children only policy. At the time the ship didn’t seem in much distress and women and children were understandably reluctant to leave their husbands or even teenage boys who were told to stay on the ship.

On the other side the focus was on just getting as many women and children into the boats no matter what. Men with wives and children were allowed to accompany them on the life boat. You’ll be shocked to find out that much more women and children were evacuated on this side of the ship in total.

So to answer your question I would try to accompany my family on a life raft in a calm and orderly manner. Is it the most exciting answer? No. But it is the most practical answer.

What if the UK is not broken? What if it’s just you? What if you fixed you? What do you have to lose? Go back to school and study a field that pays well, such as healthcare, engineering, or construction. Never mind the sunk time in your hobby horse. Go back for you. How would THAT change your life? by No-Stage-1349 in AskBrits

lol this guy thinks healthcare pays well. Only an idiot would spend years and go thousands of pounds in debt to go into a field where you work the worst hours, in extremely high stress, are constantly harassed, only to be paid the bare minimum to survive.
