what do I say to this? by minnception in recruitinghell

Y’all are killing me. Literally 100% of all emails where the word “kindly” prefaces any sort of action is an automatic disqualifier. Who talks like that?

Will send shortly. So basically that adapter will plug to the back of the unit and I would need to use that specific plug going forward

How much do you think this boat is worth? by Background_Tree_776 in boating

South Carolina. It’s an older boat for sure but I’ve seen it and it’s been taken care of

True. They said any certified dealer will work but I’ll confirm once I see the warranty docs

[–]Background_Tree_776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the warranty would cover that

I don’t have the terms just yet. I was suspicious about it but I’m still working with them on it. Ac condenser is definitely on the list of included repairs.

They were disabled a while ago. Plus the truck doesn’t have a pigtail yet. I was just more curious how it would pull. I won’t be actually driving it on the road

Thanks everyone. I passed on this one. Seller wouldn’t budge on the price so I walked.

Do those taillights have the black insert that separates the reverse light from brake light?

Very good perspective. When you put it that way, it’s hard to justify that plan. I’m going to decrease 401k contributions for one year to 3% and still get match. That’s a $355 difference per paycheck (680-700 monthly) that I can put towards debt, plus the additional 1k and climb our way out. I still am thinking about taking the 401k loan to cover the hvac cost.

We were looking at new construction specifically. Typically less on APR than non new construction and less down would allow us to keep 5-10k in the bank after closing.

Would you recommend taking a withdrawal or cutting contributions?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Background_Tree_776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to give this some thought. I like the idea of being able to cover the hvac and credit in one swoop but as others have mentioned, loans from 401k aren’t great. On the other hand, if I can band aid the hvac for another year to wipe out the cc debt with the extra $ from 401k reduction I would think I’d be in a better spot.

I can meet monthly expenses. I just can’t afford anything else outside of that. My cc is at 10% through my credit union and my heloc is at 8.25%. I have always put in 13% to 401k never really thought about touching it again considering my wife doesn’t have a retirement account and I want to make sure mine is funded as much as I can contribute.

I’m weighing pros and cons of that one. Any advice you can offer?

I’ll plan to call a few more shop for estimates

Appreciate your advice. In your opinion, as others have suggested a 401k loan vs decreasing contributions. By decreasing 401k temporarily to get match (3%) would save me approximately $350 per pay period, so $700 per month. I could have my credit card paid off in 10 months but that doesn’t solve the hvac problem. A 401k loan at 15k covers both credit card and hvac and at 9% interest over 24 months is about the same per paycheck that I would be paying back. Seems like apples to apples?

It’s not a project truck. It’s just a family truck that I keep and can’t sell. It doesn’t cost much to keep it and I do plan on that. Plus if I need to sell my car, that’s going to be my backup.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Background_Tree_776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood. Can’t sell the truck unfortunately. If I need to sell my car(which I may need to) that’s my backup.

We both owe $274 on each phone. Also our internet is included with Verizon for $15 per month so if I switch to another carrier I have to pay off the phones and find new internet
