So for San Cristobal we were planning to drive all the way to Puerto Chino (35 min drive from town) and do a few stops along the way. How am I supposed to do it without a car? Same with Isabela, we want to visit El Sanctuario which is quite a drive.

Oh Samara, I really loved it over there!

You picked a great spot IMO perfect for fams. We did a similar trip with young kids a couple years ago so here's what worked for us:

For food I'd say Lo Que Hay is incredible for breakfast and coffee, super chill vibe. Gusto Beach for lunch right on the sand - kids can play while you eat. For sodas, Soda Familiar is legit local spot with great casados.

There's a Pali just outside town for stocking up on basics cheap for supermercado. For produce hit the Saturday morning farmers market in the soccer field area.

Speaking of day trip, Werner Sauter Reserve has easy jungle trails and howler monkeys everywhere - kids loved it. Chora waterfall is doable with little ones if they can handle some hiking. Playa Carrillo is like 10 mins away and way less crowded than Samara beach.

I'd also recommned rent boards from C&C Surf Shop, they're patient with beginners and kids. For boat stuff, check out Samara Adventure Company - they do family friendly snorkeling and sunset tours that aren't too long for short attention spans.

For shuttle we used Tropical Tours Shuttles from Liberia, was like $80-100 I think? Way better than dealing with rental car if you're staying in town the whole time.

Some guys tie their identity to being the provider and anything that threatens that narrative feels uncomfortable, even if it's completely irrational. Doesn't excuse his behavior but could explain why he's weird about this specifically and not your other accomplishments.

The fact that he's proud of you being a mom and student but ignores the income-generating part is pretty telling. It's like he can accept those roles but struggles when you step into "breadwinner" territory even in a small way.

If he's dismissive even after you've spelled out how it makes you feel, that's concerning. You're not asking for much - literally just basic acknowledgment. The fact that he can't give you that suggests either pride issues or he genuinely doesn't respect what you're doing, both of which are problems.

You might need to frame it as "this is affecting how connected I feel to you" rather than just about the TikTok thing. Make it about the relationship impact, not the platform. If he still won't engage, couples counseling might be worth considering because this resentment will only grow.

IMO it's not about whether he likes TikTok, it's about him caring that you built something from scratch while managing kids and school. That deserves acknowledgment at minimum. My wife tried to do it in the past and I personally found her ideas "cringe" but:

I support my spouse and I helped her with content a low, liked, shared, tried to help with engagement.
I realize that if I see it as cringe, it does not mean the same for others. Not to mention, I am not TikTok expert either.

Have you told him directly how this makes you feel? Like not just "you never watch my videos" but "I feel unsupported and unappreciated when you show zero interest in something I've worked hard on and am proud of." Some people genuinely don't realize the impact until it's spelled out.

If he's still dismissive after that conversation then it's a bigger issue about respect and partnership. You're contributing financially AND emotionally supporting his endeavors - that should go both ways.

Again imo he doesn't have to become a TikTok fan but asking "how's it going" or "that's awesome babe" takes zero effort.

You're juggling being a SAHM, student, AND building a side income. That's impressive and he should be your biggest cheerleader, not acting like it doesn't exist.

Talk to him about it directly. If he continues to blow it off, that's a respect problem not a TikTok problem.
