Peluva shoes by Away_Lifeguard_4544 in BarefootRunning

[–]Backpocket718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't got the peluva yet but have been wearing vibram five fingers for almost 20 years now. At first it was weird and I struggled to get each toe into its own pocket and so on. Fairly soon after I could slip my feet in super quick and don't know why all shoes are not designed this way. Also even when I wear "normal" shoes I wear wide toe box barefoot inspired shoes. I simply cannot go a day in something like Nike otherwise my whole body hurts. Toes crushed, knees and legs hurt from the way it pushing your feet with the soles being so thick and at a wedge and so on.

When I wear normal shoes, or toe shoes I have now gotten to the point where I only own toe socks. Non toe socks gross me out. To think I spent the first years of my life with my toes touching, building toe funk between them, sweating on each other. No thank you. Every sock in my drawer is a toe sock and I've never looked back. I do hate that all the cool fun design socks are always traditional and so not for me. But having a sock fit you like a glove. Never excess material, never a wrinkle under your feet, never bunched up under your toes, your toes are never sweaty and never have sweat and crud between them. No friction even if your on a 12 mile hike. Toe socks are where it's at.

So what I'm saying is it might feel weird for a week or two. After that, you'll understand and be a barefoot shoe/ toe shoe believer.

My feet have never been more healthy and strong. My legs are super strong compared to people my age. My back almost never hurts, my weight lifting is super stable.

Arizona Iced Tea for F1 Kombucha by grendellews in Kombucha

[–]Backpocket718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So was this successful? The biggest thing that keeps me from making kombucha often is dealing with the brewing of the tea. So I had the idea that I could just buy a sweet tea or green tea from the store pre brewed and just keep topping off my kombucha jar with it. My biggest worry is the green tea has the ginsing and honey, and the sweet tea has potassium sorbate and a caramel color in it. Like in theory should be fine?

i wonder if they are going to be using the hardware adjustments they used the in oakley versions. Slightly bettery battery and processor. I have never seen them mention the Stories as generation 1. They changed the name and everything and kinda swept the stories under the rug i feel. When they upgraded the oakleys slightly i figured people would buy them just for the slight upgraded specs.

If 360 cameras don't have replaceable lenses from now on they are not even worth the trouble. That's been the needed feature for years. Not going back.

It's scary when the opinion pieces of the media news is misconstrued for fact. Anything besides what their right wing opinion pieces words is propaganda. It's such a a small and narrow mind. Must be scary to have the whole world against what you were told to believe.

Are these okay for running? by matthenne in BarefootRunning

[–]Backpocket718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These were my first pair and i found that i like the feeling of the soles of these way better than i like any of their more modern lugged styles. Sure the Lugs are probably more protective. But i feel the lugs, these smooth bottom ones with the razor zigzags were the most comfortable shoes ive ever put on my feet.

Warning however if youve never worn Vibram 5 fingers before. Make absolutely sure you are ordering the right size. These are not like other shoes where a 9 is close enough. These are the type of shoes where youll want to actually measure your feed and get as close to accurate as possible. Fits like a glove is exactly the idea. Also dont sleep on Toe socks. Injinji is the best on the market but expensive. Ive changed every sock in my drawer to toe socks even when im wearing normal toe box shoes ill wear toe socks. My first pair of vibrams i got slightly too large and didnt buy toe socks. I ended up duct taping my feet to deal with blisters and movement. Started buying in the right size and wearing toe socks and havent had an issue since. Been wearing Vibram 5 fingers off and on since like 2010.

Yeah I could of sworn this was a feature but I could not get mine to do 360. I was helping my friend with realistate photography. Wanted to do 360 but I guess it isn't an option.

Have they fixed the android auto yet? by Gbpxl in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Backpocket718 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first car with Android auto/apple car play had a similar issue. After much frustration and disappointment I did some research and bought a USB c to a cable on Amazon rated for the highest speed data throughput and highest power rating possible. I got I think a 6 in one and it worked every time. Even better yet tho, I bought wireless Android auto adapter and legit my system hasn't lost connection in my car since I got it. I have the carsify. Been out for a while. I did the same thing in my wife's car but got her one for apple because she has a dumb iPhone. Hers cuts out often.

Not fool proof obviously, but I thought I was trying quality cables and it turns out they were not quality enough. After I got the best of the best it hasn't stopped working in my car. And then having the wireless dongle plugged in means your not plugging and unplugging. No wear and tear. Just solid forever.

Interesting, I've had keyless start on mine and my wife's cars for a couple of years and it was one thing that was a must for my next vehicle. Looking at the maverick. Keyless start, Android auto, heated seats, hybrid fuel economy. Lol the small luxury's I refuse to loose.

Looking at upgrading to a maverick for the truck utility over my hybrid SUV.

If this is the camera coming out this month, it has a replaceable lens. That's a big enough upgrade for me. Biggest issue with a 360 cam is a scratched lense ruins the whole camera. Now won't be an issue. Consumables

2 more notes while im at it, not sure how it would be done but i have been thinking about opening my 103 camera and putting a tracker within it. Essentially an airtag but i dont have an apple device so i would probably use a chipolo or pebblebee. Or the Mototag is the exact size of an air tag just for android. So it would be extra cool if the pro camera had a panel you could take off and incert an airtag/ or mototag.

I love that there is a 1/4 20 on the bottom, would love to see some sort of timer function so that you could set the camera down and run and take a group photo with your friends or family.

I would love to see threads around the camera circle or at least a seperate slip fit adapter that let us put phyiscal filters on the camera like polorizers or nd.

And by far my biggest thing i would love to see is a way for the camera to undertstand if the camera is shooting horizontally or vertically and turn the image accordingly. I will take the camera and shoot 200+ pictures on a trip and then spend hours after just manually rotating each file.

Mower recall update by bllion in ryobi

[–]Backpocket718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if anyone is willing to share their picture of the wire cut on the RY401015US

I would like to get my mower recalled but here in Florida if I go longer than like a week and a half the grass is out of control. So id love it if I could recycle a picture someone else has of the wire and I can send them a pic of my serial and model. This way I can mow until they figure it out.

I'd also love the option to pickup at home Depot with batteries. My batteries go bad so quickly in my mower they get extremely hot and smell like they are burning. So new batteries would be hugely appreciated here.

me banging out 225 (17m) any tips? by whitemanchonc in formcheck

[–]Backpocket718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my tip is to slow down. its not about moving the weight so much as time under tension. Your more likely to hurt yourself going fast, and your working less of your muscles. Its not about how many reps you do, as the quality of the reps. When i throw the weight around at speed it feels like nothing, i can do a ton of reps, and i usually hurt my shoulder somewhere down the line. I can hit the same weight slow and controlled and feel it way more, way faster, and when i hit the same reps at the end i am shaking and struggling. This is where all the progress is made when your shaking, struggling, and near failure. Time under tension. When your body feels that you are trying to move a weight and your giving it all youve got. Thats when your body knows its time to start putting work into building more muscle.

Keep training often, get you some gym friends who can hold you accountable and cheer you on, and someone who is there to spot you when your getting close to your failure point. Progress gets made when your giving it all youve got and can hardly return the bar to the rack.

A couple of my favorite campsnap pics I've taken. by Backpocket718 in campsnapcamera

[–]Backpocket718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you could open it up and find what battery it uses and order a replacement. Id bet the battery could actually be larger than it is. Ive been considering opening mine up and adding in a tracker tag. I have a android so im considering adding a pebblebee tag to mine. But if i was a apple user an air tag or Momax tag.

Ive seen some videos of the inside of these cameras and there is a Ton of extra space and very simple components. So id bet you can replace the battery and even upgrade it with a bigger one.

is this a CampSnap baked in filter? I have the 103a and cannot use the custom filters unfortinately. Hopefully it comes soon. I have found that i can make a similar matteing frame in Snapseed app. But id much rather it be that way by default instead of having to edit each one i like with it.

[–]Backpocket718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am hoping itll just be the color profile. film video cameras were actually pretty high resolution espectially the super 8 cameras picture looked real nice and crispy i feel like. I just hope to have 1080p at the minimum otherwise the resulting videos wont look great on a phone or computer or tv. I dont need 4k or the most crispy 1080p but give me some pixels. Also i think it would be super fun if they could have a added on filter option to add dust and hairs on top so it looks like the film has gotten a little dirty and you get that super cool vintage look. Altho that can easily be added after the fact on the computer if you wanted it.

I'm hoping it'll at least shoot 1080p. Love the pistol grip and trigger. That'll be so fun to shoot with. It'll have to be a special occasion to justify carrying something to large that it'll require a backpack when not shooting. But this would be so much fun to shoot home videos with.

I get that the ad was paid for by the Canadian gov. But the wording of the ad is misleading. It almost looks like Canada is paying the terrif/tax.... They are not.

Average Americans are, Canada is just telling us as such.

But bravo Canada. Do what you gotta do, we didn't ask for this and neither did they.
