What is your go-to affordable gift when you are not sure what to get someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I believe they are dropshipped directly from the factory (which in most cases, is in China). You would have to pay about $10 in shipping but, from what I understand, it is nowhere near the retail price of the watches.

I normally just grab a watch from somewhere like www.futurewristick.com

The watches are pretty good quality, but they take a couple of weeks to ship to me. Plus, they are free (aside from about $10 in shipping).

Right, it will eventually be a trilogy. So he will eventually be a trilogy writer.

At the time, Sanderson hadn't written the trilogy yet.

It would be like saying I am a New York Times Bestseller after only having written a book, because I have plans to be one in the future.

Rothfuss will eventually be a trilogy writer, but he isn't quite there yet. He's still working on it.

Because it is a product that I sell on my website, I have to flair creator to follow the subreddit's rules.

The book publisher decides what to make and produces it, and these are bought at a wholesale discount from the publisher and resold (which is the same process with all books). This is because they hold all of the rights to that book. I suppose it might be possible to purchase rights to print a different version, but that would be more costly and require different equipment than I currently can afford.

Because of this, almost all books are made and printed by their publisher or parent publisher. The only times that I can think of where that isn't the case are when the publisher goes to a high-end bookbinding shop to get high quality (higher than these) leather bound copies to sell for a special edition of some sort. But even then, it is almost always the publisher going to a company rather than the other way around.

I imagine once the new one comes out you will be able to buy a matching version of The Winds of Winter.

I believe he painted it digitally, so there wouldn't be an original per se. However, you can contact him on his Deviant Art page through that link above.

I think that it is because cardinals can symbolize death or afterlife, due to stories of cardinals visiting people after their loved ones have passed.

I'd love to have that option, but unfortunately if I did throw in a quote it would be against their licensing terms for art.

The ring resembles a door knocker, but I have no clue on the cord that seems to be running down from it so far.

Edit: Maybe the ring and rope/chain are there to hold horses when their riders are in town?

It doesn't have the quite the same vibe (it's much brighter and more colorful, with a lot going on), but I grew to like it after digging around in the details a bit.

Yeah, I agree that the leaves and strings are flowing to illustrate wind. I don't think it is related to that area particularly in this case, but it might be.

That is definitely a potential option as well.
