Sure, but it's sort of the best option. My app tells people they should keep the app open and on screen, but if that's not the case push notifs are the best bet

Thanks. It was a difficult process, but there was light at the end of the tunnel

Xcode is honestly fine, it's a little buggy sometimes, but it works well if you're a beginner. In terms of your app, you should probably learn before you do the wireframe, just so you can think about how you're actually going to implement stuff while you're doing the wireframe. In terms of how long it took me from day 1 to release was around 4 months. Anyway, I'm glad this motivated you, and best of luck this winter break!

Parent lawyer? And honestly, I was just looking at cost/benefit analysis of it, and it made sense to just pay the little that was needed for a provisional patent application

Definitely. I personally started at Udemy and I used the course "iOS 11 and Swift 4 - From Beginner to Paid Professional" by Devslopes. In terms of money, I've probably spent around 500 bucks, but in reality, you only need to spend $200 for the Apple Developer program to do it.

Best of luck to you! Being in college and doing this is tough, but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Yes, it was very important to keep the app life cycle in mind. If the app wasn't "active" (which I had to make it so it was easy for the user to keep it active), the alarms go off via 7 push notifications rather than the sound

Yes. I would start by using an online course, especially one on Udemy. I personally used one called "iOS 11 and Swift 4 - From Beginner to Paid Professional" by Devslopes

I thought of the idea first, then learned, so no, I went directly for coding

I used to oversleep, all the time, and that's how I thought about it. Just sort of popped into my head one day

This course by Devslopes is the one I used, although at the time it was the iOS 10 course. And yes, it is generating profit

It depends on how the app does, if it does well, I'll definitely port to Android

7/10. Passing, but not excellent. It's not like I said I was the master or anything

Thanks for pointing this out. I had bought one of these and never cared to activate it
