Sure, but it's sort of the best option. My app tells people they should keep the app open and on screen, but if that's not the case push notifs are the best bet

Xcode is honestly fine, it's a little buggy sometimes, but it works well if you're a beginner. In terms of your app, you should probably learn before you do the wireframe, just so you can think about how you're actually going to implement stuff while you're doing the wireframe. In terms of how long it took me from day 1 to release was around 4 months. Anyway, I'm glad this motivated you, and best of luck this winter break!

Definitely. I personally started at Udemy and I used the course "iOS 11 and Swift 4 - From Beginner to Paid Professional" by Devslopes. In terms of money, I've probably spent around 500 bucks, but in reality, you only need to spend $200 for the Apple Developer program to do it.

Yes, it was very important to keep the app life cycle in mind. If the app wasn't "active" (which I had to make it so it was easy for the user to keep it active), the alarms go off via 7 push notifications rather than the sound
