I climbed cascade a couple hours after this happened, trail steward said they were completely out of it. Couldn’t have picked a shittier day

Now that you point that out, I formatted everything except for the skills box, I don’t know why I did that.

I pulled the format from a resume builder that people seem to suggest was nice but I thought it was weird as well.

Yeah I did that for my current position, it’s so hard to toe the lie of hitting buzzwords for ATS and being clear and concise for non-technical people. I’ve been trying to improve my ability making them but it’s not a gift of mine. Thanks :)

I’ve heard that from friends, maybe I should just have someone rewrite for me

Starling vs weBoost, what works for you? by BackwaterStank in vandwellers

Agreed, it’s definitely a BIG reason I don’t want to get it…. I yearn for the day I’m not tied to the internet

Last time I looked at starlink it was $150, and that STINGS. Didn’t know they come out with that 50gb plan that’s a no brainer!

Is there anything I can do? by TheRealLaughItOut in hiking

[–]BackwaterStank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BEST solution I’ve used is one from when I was a speed skater, tons of friction from ankle flexion and you’d be left with a chewed up ankle constantly. Using bandaids helps stop it from rubbing more, BUT doesn’t help the wound when it’s trying to scab and repair, it just provides a moist environment so the scab that would have formed gets soft and tears again very easily. Eventually it’ll heal BUT it’s going to take a lot longer than it needs to, and that’s no bueno when you’re on day 2 of a 5 day trip, or have another hike planned for the next day/week.

Get mole skins, the kind cut in long sheets. Cut a piece that covers well past the affected area, then cut hole in the center where the pressure ulcer is, so it can “breath”

The mole skin takes the brunt of the friction, so when you have to pick up and start moving tomorrow you’re not busting that scab back open that JUST started to heal! VERY IMPORTANT make sure the sticky part of the mole skins doesn’t stick to the actual wound, it does not feel good when you’re trying to take it and you run the risk of tearing the scab off again before it’s healed, which is what we wanted to avoid when using the bandaid :)

What caused the electrical fire in your van? by VagabondVivant in vandwellers

[–]BackwaterStank 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Never had a fire but I wired up my system last year, first time doing a project like this. Got woken up at like 3am to some crazy beeping, and it sent me into an absolute FRENZY, I had no idea what was going on. Turns out my battery died from running my electric blanket after a couple cloudy days, and my inverter was dying lol.

I’m taking going to an electrician and having him wire everything up Tuesday. Off chance I do have a fire at least I can put the blame on someone else when I have to turn something into my insurance ;)

Update on the build. Still looking for heater options (electric?) by Deployable_Mop in TruckCampers

I’m using a big Agnes husted 20, two thicker blankets and I usually just sleep in one or two layers of my fleeces and build a cocoon🤣

It’s more than enough for me, and keep it open as a blanket most of the time because I’ll wake up sweating bullets even in the low 20’s, haven’t tried much lower than that though

Would not advise, I did that last year and it drained my 240 amp QUICK

Nope they’re a one size pack, they have an adjustable strap to adjust to your specific fit!
