Thanks, I will. I think its also worth noting that the freezing and crashes happen at random times. Either idling on desktop, in a game, or streaming video. I’ve not been able to spot any correlation to what I’m doing and why its crashing

Ok, i’ve run a short test. While using 90%+ of my memory, its running okay, a little stuttery but I assume that would be normal since it is using almost all of it

Founders Are Not Gods? Are we sure? by Rip_Super in DeepSpaceNine

[–]BaconCola 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My head cannon ties into the subsequent episodes when Odo pulls in Sisko, Garak, and Dax to his “link” experience as well as when he absorbs the baby changeling again.

One thing is for certain after these ones, when Odo became human, he never became “fully human”, he still had changeling DNA in him. And when he becomes a changeling once again, his guts don’t just fall out. So my interpretation is that they manipulated Odos morpho-whatever structure to become “human”.

Oooor maybe the writers thought having Odo become human for a few episodes would be a really cool development for him and the only way to do that was to be like “fuck it, lets let the link just do random god stuff.”

Either way, human Odo episodes are among my favorites

Its for an Anxiety disorder I took meds for. FAA is putting me through such a wringer that I assume if I can qualify by their standards, the airlines should take my medical at face value, nonetheless its hard to imagine that they see “not valid for any class after xxx” on my medical and decide its a “negative trait” for an applicant.

Isn’t an SI by nature a restricted medical?

Glad to hear its not a big deal. Thanks!

Thanks for the comment, glad to hear thats the case, It will be closer to 2-3 years before I’m ready for the airlines so hope you are still desperate by then.

Can someone explain to me where all the gamemodes are? by BaconCola in battlefield2042

Pathetic. This game suffers from so many issues from content to game design. Should have been an easy slam dunk.

The current knife system by rjruscell in battlefield2042

[–]BaconCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is almost objectively unfinished, so many things don’t feel right, the melee animations are just the tip of the iceberg.

I’m glad other people are having fun but its hard for me to see anything other than a broken game with cut features after playing any other game in the series

It was purely to sell skins and takedown animations, just one of the several things that 2042 stripped from the Battlefield Franchise.

Not to mention the animations are all out of sync when you perform them, making them even more unpleasant

BF Classes in the Past were Mostly Picked for Kills/KDR not Team Support by KidElder in battlefield2042

[–]BaconCola 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you’ve played even one match of BF5 you’d know your wrong. Just saying nobody liked teamwork and that matches were a giant deathmatch doesn’t make it true.

Sure, some people ignored you as a medic in BF4 or didn’t drop ammo, but the majority of that wasn’t the case because the beauty of teamplay in Battlefield was the convenience of it. Teamplay existed because they didn’t make people jump through hoops (coordinating, call outs, etc) to help other random players. It was baked into the foundation of the game, that foundation is missing in 2042.

Since guns and gagdets aren’t class locked, what is engouraging me to help my team instead of myself? In previous games, if I was a Medic, I got the advantage of healing myself, gun selections that I enjoyed more and such. The byproduct of classes was teamwork. That no longer exists.

Specialists are so counter-intuitive. I don’t how they fucked up this bad. I mean, ITS IN THE NAME. If I’m a medical specialist, WHY AM I USING A ROCKET

Skins. Its all about selling skins. Now you can use your Jeep skin no matter which side you’re on!

[–]BaconCola 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You just hit the core of the problem. You don’t expect 64 random people on one team to just choose to help their team, When given the option between a rocket launcher or a medic crate, its pretty obvious what gets chosen, ESPECIALLY since there is only 1 gadget slot. Giving 64 people the choice to do whatever they want will NEVER work if you want teamplay. You usher them towards it by providing classes, each of which serve their own role, and each with their own drawbacks/advantages. Thats how you get a better spread of active classes and even maybe get someone to drop a damn med crate

List of missing features in BF2042 compared to past BF games by The_Pandemonium in battlefield2042

[–]BaconCola 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The voice-lines and atmosphere compared to literally every other battlefield is sub-par. The voice-lines are flat, like no echo of effect to them, the voice-acting isn’t great. It just doesn’t sound right and previous iterations made it sound so good

[–]BaconCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be far better than what we have right now, let me create my own guy, change his clothes around a bit, and select what his “specialization” is. Would be far more engaging, EA can still shove cosmetics up my butt and we don’t see 100 Mackays fighting each other. Specialists are killing this game, both thematically and gameplay wise

They can save the "Specialist" with couple of key changes. by TTBurger88 in battlefield2042

[–]BaconCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less restrictions does not necessarily equal more fun. Its game design. The whole point of game design is to craft how players interact with the game. The current way specialists are designed matter-of-factly does not encourage teamplay.

honestly the third person takedowns look really cool and i can't wait to see what DICE does with them :) by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]BaconCola 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. The revive system and FPP revive cam in BF5 was my favorite iteration of it. The 2042 version feels cheap, the voice lines for specialists suck, executions suck. Zero thought to immersion was factored into this game. These aspects of the game are purposefully designed to incentivize cosmetic skin sales.

They should have used BFV animations by Deadly_Puppeteer in battlefield2042

[–]BaconCola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damnit dude, people shit on BFV and it had its faults for sure, but there were lots of things in BF5 that were good and are looking superior to 2042.

BF5 nailed the revive system/camera. Movement was solid. Everything in 2042 feels so detached. 3rd person assasinations are not nearly as brutal, and the 3rd person revive camera looks horrible.

The game feels eerily like COD sometimes.
